I was moderately excited about him going into last year. Now, he's just another warm body with a lot to prove.

Ariza wasn't even very good before he came here and hasn't been either since he left....he has become a very poor volume shooter and his efficiency hasn't been there either.

Could've stopped there...

A handful of significant plays doesn't make Ariza a significant player. His impact has always been significantly over-rated by Lakers fans...

Including me... I really liked him, but deep down I know he just wasn't that bid a part of our success or failure.

MWP was better in just about every way when we made that change, and he still is. Partly because of who he is, but more so about what Ariza is, and isn't.

So saying Ebanks is Ariza 2.0 may actually be pretty accurate... But that's not that high a bar to set for him.

Still, I'd be thrilled if he could provide just that much spark.

Ariza's first game, like Pau's first game had me oohing and ah'ing. Instantly. I never saw a good Ebanks game. ;/

Man I liked Trev too but many here have a jaded view of him. Do most of you even know he was a half of foot out the league at the time the Lakers traded for him ?

Secondly when he came here his game was just as raw if not rawer than Devin's. And to those who say Dev isn't as athletic as Trevor......you have it severely twisted. For one Dev is a full 6'9" while Trev was closer to 6'7", next Trev was more of a gambler on defense than a flat out one on one defender. Dev is closer to a pure one on one defender than Trev is.

The only thing Trev has on Devin at the moment is he's developed into a scorer thanks to Kobe spotting the flaw in his shot after the 08 season. Dev has shown the ability to hit the J from the 14-18 foot range, but his deep perimeter range is still limited. He probably won't ever be the 3 shooter Trev is but he doesn't have to be.

But bottom line it's not the run away guys want to make it out to be.

In the short games he played in. I thought he did an excellent job knocking down open mid range shots. If he can extend his range from the 3 point land then I think he can become a great role player for us much like Trevor Ariza in 2009.
