Not even the clippers will be able to match the big bucks we'll throw at a big time PG. Now if the clippers do match or go bigger, theyre locked in and cash strapped. Weve just tied them up for a few years where they cannot make many more moves. Whatever the cap situation will be, WE WILL STILL HAVE A GLARING NEED FOR A PG! Nash aint gettin any younger.

Paul won't be a free agent. This isn't European Futbol haha. and Clippers are already giving Paul the max...we don't need to throw big bucks at him for them to do so.

Based on nothing in particular, but I have a feeling CP3 will sign with the Lakers when his contract is up. I don't see the clippers making any noise in the next few years.

Based on this post in particular Im sure you dont have any clue of the cap situation of the Lakers. He will be a free agent at seasons end and LA wont have space til the following season. CP3 is not coming to the Lakers.

My bad. I was goin off of his recent rejection of the clippers 60mil offer. Maybe I missed something.. I was also looking too closely at "our" new 4Billion dollat TV offer. Oh well, we've still got nash.

I do understand how the salary cap works, thanks for your concern though. I did just look up the specifics of the 2013-2014 sign and trade rules and the lakers don't qualify because they are above the 4 million dollar "apron". I didn't remember reading that before.

Even if the Lakers were eligible for sign and trade what assets would they have to offer the Clippers for the best PG in the league at that point? I know Mitch has pulled out some crzy trades before but the Clippers would have 0 interest in any available assets after this coming season. No way they take on a 39 year old Nash on the hook for 2 more years. They would be better off letting CP3 walk away clean.

how about we focus on 2015 free agents to be?

any of them not looking like happy campers at their own teams? perhaps we can entice another gasol for salary dump/ trade?

not counting players that expire before 2015 and could theoretically sign a short deal and be a FA in 2015....

some of the more juicy targets that expire that yr or have opt outs are Rajon Rondo, Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony, and Tony Parker.

I've seem reports of Kevin Love not being happy. Hard to see Rondo leaving the Celtics for the Lakers at the prime of his career but if Boston isn't competitive by the time Rondo hits free agency you never know what might happen.

Keep the group together for a chance to 3 peat

LOL-counting chickens before they hatch.

I seriously hope we get to keep this group together longer than Kobe/Shaq/Malone/Payton
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!
