Times have changed. I remember the days when fans would purposely go out of their way to avoid complimenting Kupchak. Good to see that he stuck in there, despite the harsh (and often times, unfair) criticism from the fan base.

100% agree Scarlett is better overall than Alba. But I'd take down either

But if I had to pick one, it would have to be Mitch for sure, his persona is that of a BOSS lol additionally to the fact that he was able to make two super teams within the past 8 years, the first one did not work out to well in 2004 due to injuries and Shaq&Kobe dispute however, I am pretty sure we can all concede we had the more talented team in that 2004 Finals and if given a chance to go at it again in 2005 without the fighting, we would of been favorites to win it in 2005. Did I mention Mitch is a BOSS, and he steals other teams franchise players for scrubs i.e Kwame Brown for Pau Gasol or damaged goods in Bynum for Dwight Howard.

If it weren't for injuries there is a good chance that 2004 team wouldn't have made it past the Wolves who had injury problems themselves.

Not old enough to comment fully on West, but the move to land Shaq and the vision to see what Kobe would eventually become are two epic notches.

Mitch was a machine though this off-season, put Mamba in a great position to equal and possibly pass MJ on the ring count.

Truth is J.West only real big FA signing was Shaq, but he drafted well and filled the roster with good role players over his time as GM.

But Mitch on the other hand has done his damage by way of big trades. Pau, Steve and Howard. And he too also filled in with some decent role players, Artest being his biggest. But he didn't draft as well as West did.

It's not like he had much to work with. The only decent picks (trades aside) he had were 10th in 2005 (Bynum) which was A+ and 19th in 2007 (Crittenton) which was not-so-good.
He, or whoever he listened to of course, also drafted some good role players with late 1sts (Farmar, Vujacic) and 2nds (Turiaf, Ebanks). Not to mention Marc Gasol. That's a pretty good drafting job IMO.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

It's really hard for me to decide on who was better, so many factors to consider. The cap rules are way more stringent than they were for Jerry, they had just started to get tighter when he landed Shaq. Mitch has had to deal with some straight up BS cap wise and dick moves by the league also.

But I'm gonna be a trooper and say Mitch only because of the way the business has gone, much tougher now than it was for Jerry.

To be fair, it's a lot easier to have an impressive draft resume when you get several top 10 picks, including a couple of 1st overall picks and another top 4 pick. The only time a Mitch led staff has had a top 10 pick, we drafted a player in Andrew Bynum that developed into a good enough trade piece to yield the best center in the league in return. Mitch also drafted a guy like Marc Gasol deep in the 2nd who developed into an all star, so I don't think there is clear evidence that Mitch would fare worse than West did drafting given the same draft spots. West might have a slight edge drafting wise, but to me it's not crystal clear.

Overall, I'd want Mitch as my GM, but thats not to say that West isn't one of the all time greats. We're lucky to have had both of them as GMs for our franchise.

Scarlett Johannsen = Mitch
Jessica Alba = West

Kate Upton = City of LA(Dan Fegan)

Easy answer, LA makes GM look better... Dwight's agent did all the leg work on that trade, Mitch Kupchak gets the credit. smh
