Dwight's passing is actually underrated. Honestly its really a strength. He can find the open guys even if they are across the court out of his clear line of vision. Compared to Bynum he like Chris Webber as a passer.
Dwight has the highest foul per shot rate in league history. You don't do that without being good offensively. If Dwight was just a better free throw shooter he could average 25 ppg on 12 shots. Getting yourself in position to score before you have the basketball is a big part of offense. Its the reason why Bynum and Gasol didn't seem to play well together. While I like how Dwight and Gasol play together. With Bynum it seem like Gasol was just stuck watching as Bynum performed his post moves. Dwight does the work before he even has the ball 70%.
Most post moves are overrated. Shaq is always talking about jump hook jump hook jump hook. That is nice especially when your 7'1 360. You spent a career 4 feet from the rim. The reality is a jump hook for most players they don't shoot at that great of a percentage. They almost never get to the free throw line on that shot. Dwight's free throw per shot rate is so crazy high because he takes the type of shots that get you to the free throw line. Teams have to double team Dwight because they know if they don't he will get there front court in foul trouble. While a Bynum for example you just play behind and let him do his jump hook.
