D'Antoni: Lakers Coaching Staff Will Remain Intact

Post#1 » by Baby Bop » Fri Nov 23, 2012 2:36 am

Mike D'Antoni plans to retain assistants Chuck Person, Steve Clifford and Eddie Jordan through the season.

"They're good coaches. I know almost all of them anyway. They work extremely hard. We are in a lot. I just felt like, 'They're here, they're good, why change it?'" D'Antoni said before the Lakers played the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night.

"I've known all of them and I've seen 'em work. They're coaches. They're very valuable in what they add. Their insights. The more insights you have, I think the better you are."

D'Antoni previously considered adding Nate McMillan to his staff, but it now appears that won't happen during the season.

"During the year? No, I think we're good. We don't need anybody,"D'Antoni said. "These guys are good. I'm not going to say that because it makes me feel good. These guys are good, they deserve to be here."

I think Bickerstaff has been looking for a way out.

Smart move by Bernie, going out on top like that. Forever the GOAT.

Smart move by D'Antoni and as stated, I'm sure management and $$ played a part. Consistency is key at this point if we want to win. If I were Eddie I'd be soaking up some offensive knowledge and working on some crazy new hybrid fast paced, simplified Princeton.

Is it me or was Dan D'Antoni not at the game against the Nets? The bench is way too filled. I feel like keeping Jordan is just really awkward, considering the fact that Brown was pretty much fired because he desired to install a Princeton offense to run Steve Nash, as opposed to Nash running his own offense. Whatever though, I know for a fact that D'Antoni's coaching staff will drastically change next season.
