Re: Michael Pietrus
Pietrus can shoot the three and can play some decent D. Are we giving up on Ebanks then?

Re: Michael Pietrus
West would be the top choice, but he might be further gone (mentally) than we know since the Lakers haven't signed him yet. We had interest in him in July so I can't think of any other reason why he isn't already wearing P&G. Signing him would give us a damn solid guard rotation with Kobe/Nash/West. We'd have 3 guys that can create and shoot. Not sure what would happen with Morris and Meeks, but one of them is probably going to be riding pine if we get West. Blake can eat a dick.
After that I'd prefer Raja Bell. He's a better defender than Meeks and far more consistent from the outside. In fact he's probably the most consistent of all the players listed. He's a tough player and the type of guy you want to have on your roster in the post-season.
Pietrus doesn't give us anything that we don't already have so it seems like a wasted signing. Ebanks has paid the price for his DUI so it's time to move on.
No idea who T-Will is.

I meant Terrence Williams who played for Sacramento Kings last season
For me, west and raja bell are too old for our second unit to be a up tempo or even run and gun combination
we would have too much guard too if we sign west

West turned 29 in July... that's not too old for a guard.
We'd definitely be stacked at the guard spot, but that's only because we have so many usesless guards on the roster. Blake and Duhon would be buried deep on the bench whereas Morris can still get a few minutes at PG. I doubt we'd have much use for Meeks at that point either, but that's fine since he's such a one-dimensional player.
The thing about West is that he can play both PG and SG. He's an excellent defender, solid play-maker, and a very smart decision-maker. Kobe can spend some time at the 3 as well if we sign West, which means more post-up opportunities with Nash and West spreading the floor.

fixed.
right now the lakers don't have the personnel to solving the defensive problems on the perimeter.
lets look at our starters:
nash is old.
kobe is old, he can still play D but hes lazy.
artest is good against player his size but he has troubles against quick/athletic players.
the bench:
blake suck
morris has the quickness and athleticism but he just not good at D.
meeks same as morris.
ebanks is ok he's probably our only hope. but i really wonder why he keeps losing minutes.
now having the players that can play good D shouldn't be much of a big deal if we at least have a good defensive coah. but the thing is we just hired...Mike Dantoni lol.
i really think we should try to fix this issue now while its still early. i think this problem will hunt us in the playoffs.
Morris has actually played very good defense thus far.

Guys the bench is fine. None of these guys half this board are clamoring for are upgrades over what LA already has outside of West. As big as I am on West I want to see what Meeks does in the coming weeks and with Nash back. If he doesnt flourish then LA really needs to consider a player like West.

There isn't a single player on that bench that can create his own shot. You have to have at least three guys that can on your team and the Lakers have two (one is hurt).

To my obsevation, ourt bench PGs are fine except blake
we desperately need a backup SF
kobe is not willing to take up SF minutes as he said before
That's why i do not prefer West especially with his mental problem

Re: Michael Pietrus
This is weird, but I actually like Duhon. He seems to play well with Dwight, and throws in some of the best post-entries in our team, and has been making his open three and always makes the right decision. Thing is, I don't mind Morris either, I just think the ultra talented starting 5 is keeping him in check. Blake, I hate everything about, but I still want to see how he does in this system. To me he just doesn't give the shooting of Duhon at a consistent level, and obviously doesn't have half of Morris' explosiveness. I think Meeks is just going to get better and better in this system, and I don't want his minutes dropped in favor of Pietrus or Raja Bell. Delonte West is interesting though...The only thing is that Jamison should not play any minutes at the three..he's proven that he's at his best as a stretch four next to Dwight. The problem is that as much as I love Jordan Hill you can clearly see that he's going to keep losing minutes and get underutizlies under D'antoni. I could see a Jordan Hil/Ebanks/Morris trade for an upgrade at either the backup pg or the backup sf. Let me emphasis that I love Hill, but I don't think D'antoni sees him as a good fit.

Re: Michael Pietrus
i dont think hes a magic bullet, but he can be a good shooter and a decent def player
which is about as good as you can off the waivers at this point in the season.
he will also allow us to have some depth on bench and variations in lineup that Dantoni might like.
all in all, we need more shooters, and i find him to be more versatile and a better player then raja bell at this point

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to sign veteran shooting guard Mickael Pietrus, USA TODAY Sports has learned.
According to two people with knowledge of the situation, veteran small forward Dominic McGuire is likely to be released by the Raptors in order to make room for Pietrus. The Raptors (3-13) need help, and the addition of Pietrus is expected to be finalized on Friday.
