I don't think you can hold down OKC in terms of half court offense. The only way to beat them is to improve offensive execution and that comes from having better players overall. Nash will help quite a bit in reducing the turnover count and that's one reason why Kupchak acquired him.

Still I feel like L.A. is close against this OKC team. An upgrade somewhere, perhaps at backup SF would be the key.

Durant's defense was ****. I want to make him defend every play.

I didn't get to see the game so I don't have much to go on but I saw a headline on the NBA site that said ''Thunder getting even scarier''......didn't we only lose by 6 without 2 of our best players?

lose by 6 or lose by 30 a loss is a loss. They were down by 12 or more for a majority of the game.

Its the turnovers by the whole team, but i hope with the return of Nash, that the rest of the team will handle the ball less, at least I hope Duhon will

Yeap, Nash might be the best defense we have against the fast break. He's averaged 4 tovs a game or so in Phx but that was because the ball was in his hands to create every single time down the court. We could handle 3-4 tovs if it meant that both Kobe and Dwight drop to 2 a game or so. It also means we don't have to watch Meeks drive to the basket or MWP try to create.

Still, I was happy with the fight that they put up.

This team sucks, they are great individual players but suck as a team…everyone thinks that Nash will fix this team (when he finally comes back)…how is Nash going to fix the nonexistent defense? I really don’t think these team plays hard for the entire game. Dantoni isn’t a great coach and doesn’t make very good in game adjustments. I’m not sure these players can pull it together and pull this off.

I don't know why guys are so upset over this loss. Like Deep said we're missing 2/5 of the starting line up plus the team fought til the end. Without that 1st half Westbrook had & as much as I hate to bring up refs there were a lot of shady calls against us & they fought to the end.

As far as guys complaining about defense its kind of funny. All off season long Deep & myself kept tellingmost guys Howard not be the magic elixir but guys didnt want to hear that. Oh if we get Howard, Oh if we had Howard, Oh now thatwe have Howard. ..............and so on & so forth. Defense is a team game no matter if you have the best basket defender in the game.

Dwight has been a wonderful acquisition, sure he has his short comings like everyone else but as good as he is he can't do it by himself.

On to the Nash thing. Nash will help overall because it will lead to more made baskets which will give the defense time to set up.

The thing that's being overlooked by guys making statements like Nash can't play defense either. True enough but he can make guys like Westbrook, CP3, & others work hard themselves. These are NBA players better yet NBA All Stars. When guys like that get it going, no one is stopping them & that includes Nash once he's back & rounds into form.

Exactly Anklebreaker, guys don't understand that even with Howard that alone wasn't going to cure our defensive ills. Dwight can hold his man one on one any day of the week, but he only improves your team D if the team can make the right reads and react accordingly.

And for the thing about Nash is this......yeah he can't check Westbrook alone, but he has enough of an offensive game that Westbrook just can float around the whole game not using energy. Sometimes defense isn't about shutting down your man, sometimes it's having just enough O.

I was really impressed with Dwight's post moves last night... He showed a lot more skill than I've seen so far from him.

Beyond that, we don't have any defensive identity. We're just all over the place. We seem capable of stops one on one when we really focus on it, but we have no team D and just seem to make it really hard on ourselves.

Duhon and Meeks showed me a little something on offense though, even if neither one of them could really lock anyone down.
