Slow down the pace?
When you have a slow/unathletic team (with 2 bigs) and a team that can't run back on transition defense, do you think slowing down the offense just a little bit could help us get some wins? Not overreacting to yesterdays loss or anything but we can't match the quickness of the top teams in the west (clippers/okc/denver etc...). Everytime we turn the ball over, it's almost a wide open layup ont he other side. The only question is, does D'antonio system have to be fast paced or could it be slowed down?

I wouldn't mind the team slowing down some, if it meant they would work the ball inside to the bigs in order to create fouls. Plus by working it in slower we might be in better place for some rebounds.

Re: Slow down the pace?
I feel like our pace yesterday was fine. We lost because Denver was fresher than we were, they played Christmas Day like us but hardly put forth much of an effort being blown out by the Clippers, and by Dwight's ejection. The game was still very much within reach when Dwight was removed from the game.
We were also victims of a very salty officiating crew. Did we get one favorable call the whole game?

Re: Slow down the pace?
We should NOT be a "fast" team. We should play medium pace and use our intelligence. We can outsmart teams, we don't need to take wreckless shots.

Re: Slow down the pace?
The upside to a slower pace is the opposing team generally plays slower as well. If we play the running game against younger, more athletic teams, we're not playing to our favor.
We should slow the pace down, run the offense through the bigs, draw fouls, get the opposing teams into the penalty, and live off the inside out game with Kobe and Nash's shooting with a good mix of pick and roll as well.
A slower pace would also improve our rebounding as the bigs would have more stamina. We're leading the league but more offensive boards would surely help. On a side note, I'm not a huge fan of MDA's offense because it puts us in bad offensive rebounding position. If Pau were closer to the low post with Dwight, offensive rebounds wouldn't be an issue...
