Celtics have zero shot at winning a championship so I'll root for them against any team that's ahead of us in the standings. If they were contenders (or if we were) then it would be a different story.

This......I could care less about the Celtics, I just want us to monkey stomp them at all cost anytime, anywhere. Real Laker fans who hate the Celtics will NEVER root for them.

That said I gotta question the OP's age, gotta be under 30 for sure. All I can say is you better use this technology and look back on the history. Go look at that lucky piece of s*** shot by Don Nelson back in the Forum in Game 7 from 1969. That's why I loved it when he failed as a coach, as far as never winning a title anyway.

Then take a look at the 80's history, like when they played punk ass and shut off the AC in the Laker locker room. Or punk McHale clotheslining Kurt Rambis. You gotta a lot of catching up to get to my level of hate.

Now that the Celtics have almost no chance of winning the title (same boat as us), I would root for them against Miami, OKC..etc. If they were contenders I wouldn't root for them against anyone. Plus I used to respect KG before he went there...

This year the Celtics' regular season is done and I'm rooting for them esp to win against the few teams between us and 8th place in the playoffs. Also I'd rather have them win than OKC or the Clips.

In general though, I will root for any team in the NBA to win the title over the Celts. If you'd rather have the Celts win it all than the Heat, you can't be a real Lakers fan. I want to get 17 and tie for the lead. I don't want them gaining ground on us.
