I'm not worried. I think Nash, Kobe, and Gasol can figure some things out. When Nash has the ball, I'm confident he will know what to do and set people up perfectly. Nash will help Brown save his job as long as Brown doesn't screw it up. I never had confident in the Lakers coaching staff once Phil left.
The offense should be a lot more fun to watch too.

Kilroy wrote:The 2 Championships worked because Pau and Bynum didn't play much together, and Odom and Pau playing well together doesn't count.

I definitely agree. Odom made it work. We'll have to see how Nash does. Nash is the point guard so the majority of the time he'll have the ball in his hands. It will be so different because we haven't had something like that in a very long time. Sessions couldn't do it, and I'm sure that didn't help especially since he came mid way during the season. Nash will have plenty of more time to figure it out for everyone.

I think this team will be the Suns when they had JJ, Q3, Marion and Stat, but with better defense. I think Bryant could have a few games where he shoots better than 60%, Bynum and Gasol will be a much better duo than Marion and Stat without Nash so having him will only makes them that much better. I can see us filling out with players like Delonte West, Shannon Brown, JR. Smith, Nick Young, Kris Humphries, Gerald or Carlos Delfino. I forgot about Grant Hill too, but if we bring hack Jordan Hill I think Nash will do him like me does the body....darn good.

We have the Vet Min and the MMLE ($3+M/yr) to offer... How many of those guys do you think would accept that?

as far as Pau, not worried with Nash at the helm he will get his touches. Metta will get his five corner three's per game.

the only concern I have is Drew's lazy ass. he will have to make the biggest adjustment. if he wants his touches he will have to run the floor.

+1 on all of this

I'm really glad to see these guys put aside their differences and come together for a title run!

You thought the Celtics were old. Now I would say the Lakers are the oldest team. Maybe the slowest team also. D Howard to the Lakers. Now how would that work. They want more than just AB. No draft picks to offer. Well might as well cross that one off. I wish they had gotten Beasley, at lease he is young. Might be a 2012-13 season of win now, because the future is again traded away.

The Lakers were already old. Their first round picks would have been pretty low anyway. This is a move for Kobe's last few years. Nash may be old but he hasn't fallen off a bit.

We'll just have to wait out the Dwight soap opera. The Lakers still offer the best piece but I doubt Mitch will bite if there is no extension.

Beasley is promising but obviously there's issues with him and he isn't going to make the difference Nash will. We just needed better offensive execution to contend, and that is something Mike Brown won't ever be able to provide.

As for the twin towers, I'd like one to move for the right piece(s). It is a little cluttered in the middle even with nash running the show. It'd be nice to add a little athleticism. Either way I'm exciting about next season.

i still think we need balance in our frontcourt. like you said pau and bynum are two bigs who need the ball in their hands to be fully effective. and the thing is, theyre our main weapons, and we need to maximize them in order for us to be one of the elite teams. even the great phil jackson said this. thats probably why during his time we see gasol/odom or bynum/odom combo more often than bynum/gasol.

but we'll see. steve nash is a high bball iq player he'll find a way to be effective in this new system. his 3 point shooting alone and playmaking should help our bigs big time.

I wonder if Minnesota would do Bynum for Love... Sick trifecta of white starters.

I hate to say this but we need Dwight now. His ability to almost single-handedly shut down the pick & roll would be precisely what this team needs defensively.

Plus he runs the floor beautifully for a big... This would be a great fit with Nash!

Green, West and Hill should be easy to get. Green and West would come cheap no more than the vet min for them and MMLE for Grant Hill and bring Jordan Hill back that should sit us around 94 million.

I'm sorry, but I do enjoy looking back.

Always interesting to see who has the goods (in this case Kilroy being one) ... and who believes in magic wands and unicorns.

There's a reason we don't want threads bumped up from oblivion for no reason at all. This causes no good, if you wish to make a point of relevance, create a new thread.
