Re: Ideal Bench Player
We realistically have only the Mini-MLE and Vet-Mins to offer players... JR Smith will be offered more than that.
Our best option outside of a trade, is to be granted an injury exception for Kobe and see if we can grab a full MLE player with that.
In any case, Mitch's hand should burn off if he picks up the phone to call JR's agent.

Does Lamar even want to come back? He has a fragile psyche and probably still has hurt feelings.

Why can't this said player can't do both, play alongside Bryant as well as step up and take charge when need be?
I've always wanted Stephen Jackson to play for the Lakers. He's not a bad guy, when given playing time he puts up good numbers.

J.J. Redick is a free agent this off season. I wonder if Dwight can convince him to come play for the Lakers.
I would be behind just about anything to get Parsons here
Does anyone see a kid in the draft who reminds them of CP25?

With the exception of Young, any of these guys would be welcome. I have a soft spot in my heart for Duds.
Not sure about Chandler's D or his long range shooting.Brewer's no bomber wither, though. Both of them have athleticism over JYD, he just works his ass off. Good IQ as well

Re: Ideal Bench Player
I love will bynums take over ability. He can be had for cheap. He's a better player than nate Robinson, and world's better than barea. The current state of the league allows you to play with 2 pgs. We could stay elite while Kobe is recovering with Bynum and martell Webster

Bynum and Webster would be a great offseason in my opinion. They both answer a need. Bynum can score and attack the basket while Webster would be the 3 pt shooting wing. I'm still in favor of dealing Gasol though.

there's no way Wilson Chandler gets anything lower than the MLE.

Re: Ideal Bench Player
if the Lakers didn't have a roster full of PGs I'd even consider Bynum. as for Webster, there's nothing to offer him. what, part of the MMLE? vet min? guy's not even expendable in that Wiz rotation. Ariza's inconsistent so as Cartier Martin and Singleton.
unless he wants to be part of a dynasty franchise and Washington has other plans then it may be feasible. he won't earn as much wearing P&G but he'll definitely get PT.

I've always wanted Stephen Jackson to play for the Lakers. He's not a bad guy, when given playing time he puts up good numbers.
Did he and metta ever make amends? I saw an interview where he seemed miffed that metta never said thank you or anything like that after the palace brawl.

when a team like the Spurs rather have a washed up Tmac over Jackson, he's a BAD GUY! and a bad player, period!
