Dwight is a Laker if they had signed Phil. Kobe probably not run into the ground. The day they chose Mike D over Phil Jackson might be remembered for a very long time.

I don't know if Phil would had actually coached the Lakers if he got offered the job. He teaches the triangle and it's hard to make a transition that rapidly along with his age and physical conditions being a factor

Not that I was hell bent on having him stay but I think you're right

Harden is a very good player, but not a guy who can carry a team by himself like Kobe.

No offense, but Harden is 23 and Kobe is 34 (with an achilles tear)

yeah ...? but 34 year old kobe is still better than 23 year old harden

That was before Mike D was even hired. You hired a coach for your nearly 40 year old point guard and not the guy that would have guaranteed Dwight staying.

Dwight has done more than Chris Paul and they fired and hired a coach for him. The Lakers have to make a decision. The Kobe era may not be done but the winning part of it is done. If the plan is to lure free agents you better figure something out. Lebron isn't playing for Mike D. Melo isn't playing for Mike D. Unless your a PG your not going to want any part of Mike D'Antoni.

Lol. For a wave? Get over yourself. Laker fans mocked this guy for a YEAR. Many fans had his quote put into their tagline. To react that way to a wave suggests that you would not have been able to stand the mockery that he went through.

Actually some might suggest the day that Davis Stern vetoed the Chris Paul trade will be the date to remember. If that trade goes threw Dwight and Chris Paul are Lakers right now. We are talking about the next Laker dynasty.

I read somewhere it was after dantoni was hired. I mean bottom line is pau who can get along with anyone had problems with mike. I understand the lakers not wanting to pay three coaches but I also feel Jim is stubborn. Either way its water under the bridge now,it'll be interesting to see what the lakers do of we have another slow start this year.

So our roster looks something like this right now:

C-Pau/Sacre
PF-Hill/Ryan Kelly
SF-MWP
SG-Kobe/Meeks
Pg-Nash/Blake

PG seems like he could be even better than Kobe... IMO.

Any players by next years (with ending contracts) trading deadline will force their team to trade them for a big expiring contract?
