I think you guys have watched too much of Spike Lee's "Kobe Doin' Work". The idea that Kobe, a guy who chucks to his hearts delight, throws teammates under the bus, and has been called out in now TWO books by Phil Jackson, is some savant when it comes to improving those around him is rather humorous.

Just to take a peak an the fantastically flimsy "quick list"...

- Pau Gasol: Pau was the best player on a 50 win playoff team in Memphis, averaged ~48 wins 3 years in a row all with awful talent around him. Meanwhile the Kobe led Lakers were struggling to make the playoffs and missed it entirely one year. Who made who better?
- Trevor Ariza: TREVOR ARIZA?!?! What is he doing on this list in the first place? He blew through LA like a fart in the wind and played at the same level he had previously in Orlando.
- Lamar Odom: Its funny... guy does the same thing in LA as he did previously in his career, only now he is on TV more and suddenly Kobe saved his career? I'm sure Phil Jackson would find it quite humorous to hear that Kobe Bryant circa mid 2000s was saving teammates careers.
- Shannon Brown: He had his best years in Phoenix with Nash.
- Jordan Hill: What? Hill? He has played like 30 games and been decidedly mediocre... if in the desperate search for Kobe made men Jordan Hill somehow came up... its a pretty awful sign.

But hey, maybe he will save Wes Johnson. All he needs to learn how to do is shoot, pass, defend, rebound and stop dribbling the ball off his knee... and you'd have a serviceable NBA player.
