He really is. Can't handle the ball, not a good shooter, afraid to attack the basket, and for his position he isn't every athletic. Defense might be his only hope, and he is average in that area at best.

Re: Xavier Officialy a Laker
Bottom line is they (the Front Office, not any of you) saw something in him to bring him in. I think he'll make the roster. Aside from my lil insult...lol I think he could be something special for us, as I recall last season and the season before and so on. Most of us were unhappy with the old players the front office added to the team, many fans begging for younger legs, now we got younger legs, yes unproven some of them are but we have the players that fit the offense for MDA. Lets see if dude pans out and if he doesn't then oh well the money is coming out of your pockets and to be honest this year doesn't really count right?

Give the dude a shot, maybe he will up his game this off season in hope to bring something new to the table and make a team, if not the Lakers than someone's. Like they said, he is only 22 and might have been better if he did not come out after 1 year of college. Maybe he is set to turn it around and become a NBA player. For what the Lakers are paying, it is not that much money either way.

Re: Xavier Officialy a Laker
Unless he's downright horrible in training camp and the preseason games, he'll make the final roster. Also, he'll probably not be in the initial rotation and wont touch the floor. But they'll come a point in the season he'll need to be ready... Much like Earl Clark stepped up to the plate when that opportunity was given due to injuries/players fatigued etc. Xavier will need to show his worth (remember this is still a contract year). Like I've been saying these lottery picks didnt pan out to be faces of a franchise or even core players after they were drafted. But as role players to contribute minutes Mitch and Jim have done a good job IMO.

How do you think there's a spot for him with the rumblings of Nash/Blake/Farmar playing PG/SG together? Plus Kobe getting most of his minutes at SG. Then Meeks. With Nick Young/Wes will see a lot of SG/SF minutes too.
Wouldn't it make most sense that we need SF/PF tweeners (like Harris) to make the roster not SG/SF ones?
Only way I see a guy like Xavier making it is if we plan on trading one of our other guards, but seeing as they don't have much value and most of which are signed at relatively cheap deals...I find that unlikely.

That last paragraph sir. I'm still one to think we're gonna move Blake and/or Meeks at some point. Meeks is the most likely to go. If you look a the depth chart he's the least versatile of all the SG/SF. If Meeks 3 point shot isn't falling he gives us nothing else out there. Xavier at least plays defense, a better athlete and can move well without the ball

i don't see a trade as realistic. i think the only way henry makes the roster is if after training camp it looks like kobe is going to miss more time than expected. if he's looking at a mid to late december return, henry can be the emergency player behind this depth chart:
nash/farmar
blake/meeks
young/johnson
with henry as the 3rd string emergency filler

Yeah, it strikes me as the Lakers are just playing it safe with Kobe's return.

Too many people seem to want to get rid of Meeks. Anybody else want to give him another shot in the D'Antonni offense this season? He really is a perfect fit. Just control his 1 man fast breaks and hope he has a better shooting season. His quick spot up jumper and elevation is a real asset if he would just be more consistent.

Meeks this season will be Ray Allen-esque. I'm not even jinxing it. Xavier and Wes will be Sefalosha at worst.
