Blake and Meeks appreciation

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Sat Dec 7, 2013 5:40 am

With the return of Kobe and inevitable changes to the guard rotations, roles, and opportunities, i thought it would be a good time to express some appreciation for blake and meeks. these two guys were the biggest targets of hate and contempt all season long and who knows where the team would be without them now.

they're proved a lot of people wrong.

and props to Blake & Meeks,

Well of course they were hated....all of the shots Meeks hit this year he missed last year

Give credit where credit should be given, criticize when it's the case....this is how it should be

And I don't think Blake's and Meeks role will change that much...can't see Kobe playing more than 30 mpg,and when he's out of the game Blake should continue to play his game and create for the team
While Meeks will see his fair share of mins, the other wings will see their mins drop, not him

Well ,it's only a matter of time
When Farmar and Nash get back Henry will probably be glued to the bench...we just don't have enough mins to go around
Johnson will play more PF again so one of Williams/Hill/Sacre should be benched as well

Ummmm I appreciate their play this season. But with Kobe (healthy) back in the fold shouldn't Meeks get a BUNCH of open shots? Blake has played well also but I'm still not comfortable come playoff time with him being our starting PG.. Thats Farmar position

If Blake or Nash are our starting PG's come playoff time... Then expect Parker, Lillard, Curry, Westbrook, and CP3 to make LOVE to those 2 smh

It's not like they came hang up their jerseys now. We still need them to play the same way or even better.

Like Steve Blake, to me it's a shame we might not make a deep run this season, because I tell you if I'm a GM on a contender, I've gotta notice Steve Blake is great this season. He's scrappy, plays within his limited athleticism (something Nash needs to adjust to, his new body), hits clutch shots, better passing than we've seen in years. Man.

Believe this used to be called pulling a Verbal.

Why do we have to show appreciation ?

They're paid to do what we've expected of them.....which is play well and be a competent player on the floor.

Just joking !!!! Seriously though Jodie and Steve have been our two most consistent players all season.

They've both been great. Meeks finally learned how to finish at the rim and his handles in transition have looked a lot better so far. But Blake looks miles better. He is just dissecting defenses and finding the open man and making great decisions.

Blake and Meeks have been terrific.
But the key to our better than expected start has been the bench and the amazing chemistry and hustle in this team.
I've been following the Lakers for more than 35 years. This team is up there as far as hustle and playing hard. They just never give up.
It is fun to watch.

I just wanna have a whole team appreciation thread. Watching this team is such a joy after witnessing last year. That whole fourth quarter was beautiful last night.

I think Nash had a lot to do with Blake's success... he looks like I would expect Nash to look at this point if his career if not for injuries.
