Lakers' Pau Gasol cleared to increase activity following groin injury

Pau Gasol has been cleared to increase his basketball activity, according to the Lakers big man.

Diagnosed with a strained right groin on Feb. 1, Gasol missed the Lakers' last five games. He spoke briefly in the locker room at Staples Center as his team prepared to play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night.

The 7-foot power forward/center was examined on Thursday by Dr. Steve Yoon of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Group.

The Lakers don't play again until Feb. 19, hosting the Houston Rockets at Staples Center.

It's unclear if Gasol will be available by then, but the two-time NBA champion noted he was happy with the outcome of his Thursday check-up.

Gasol is the Lakers' leader by averaging 17.0 points and 10.2 rebounds a game.

We're actually a much more competitive team with Kaman as our starting C.

So in that case, hurry back Pau.

We still losing tho

Stay injured Pau,picked up Kaman in the fantasy league and I could use his stats

If Kaman's a Laker after the trade deadline, I'll be surprised. If we get anything more than a 2nd round pick, I'll be shocked.

I'd be pretty surprised if we kept Pau... I think they'll do everything they can to trade him and avoid having to deal with his contract.
I think we might unload Hill too... And of course we'd like to get something of value in return for Blake as well.
Kaman at his price point, would be pretty hard to replace, so I think he might be staying along with Kelly, and Sacre.

All this stuff about Pau saying he wants to stay is pure bullsh*t... he just wants stay here the rest of the season then bolt after... he absolutely needs to be traded

He won't be traded. He's gonna negotiate an extension and get that Jim Buss discount rate at 2 year 40 mil.

phoenix wanted to see if he was really 20/10, gasol shut that down
