The next BIG question is do the Lakers & Minny revisits a K Love trade for our first & a sign and trade for Pau during the draft... Do we pick for Minny or the Lakers... If K Love is planning to opt out & push the franchise to make a move is that enough to make it happen... I know a coue of posters will say keep the pick as we can get K Love later but I would personally give them the pick to make sure we get K Love... If we get a top 3 pick, it will be very interesting on draft night... Assuming it happens, lineup as follows:

PG: Lowry, Marshall & Farmar
SG: Kobe, Meeks & MarShon
SF: Young & Wesley
PF: K Love & Kelly
C: Hill & Sacre

That team is definitely an improved unit over this year and could do some damage if healthy... The next BIG day will be the draft...

The real big question is why do you keep posting when everything you say hasn't come true...

So like.... Wahdhe say bro?

Since you asked so nicely:

- Traded Blake to give Marshall and Farmar more time for evaluation, goal for the rest of the season is just to evaluate current players and maintain cap space
- Picks more valuable than ever, 2nd round picks as hard to acquire nowadays as 1st round picks
- Didn't make a deadline deal with Hill/Kaman because not concerned with salary relief, looking for "basketball components"
- Not pushing Kobe to get back this season and felt it was unethical to influence Nash's decision. Didn't comment much regarding the stretch provision but said it's "more complicated than it seems"
- Feels well positioned for the future and have a plan but won't make any promises going into the future, also plan probably not limited to 1 year, won't blow cap space all at once
- Feels despite CBA limitations and lack of talent that LA will still be an attractive place due to legacy/franchise/ownership/city
- Will be more focused on looking at the top 1st round draft prospects because of our pick
- Not going to waste long term money to be mediocre
- Possible to re-sign Pau, also possible to extend Pau but not likely

I might've missed some stuff, I didn't watch the whole interview and I pieced together some of the stuff from reading tweets. Hopefully the video will be out soon

Makes me feel good about what the front office has planned for the future especially the bit about their plan not being limited to one year and tying up long term money to be mediocre.

Mitch has a 2 part interview (~13 min) up at twcsportsnet. Pretty much talks about the same stuff.

There's a rumor out there that Hill and/or Kaman may be bought out.
I'm not sure how that would work in the CBA, but it may make sense given the reasoning surrounding the Blake trade.

I'd keep hill if possible though.

I hope we keep Hill. Kaman seemed disinterested against the rockets. It's time for him to go.

Well, D'Antoni kinda said (read a tweet by Kevin Ding from what I recall) a week or something ago that when Pau returns, Kaman will go back to DNP, so it makes sense that we keep Hill...

Why would we buy out anyone? That doesn't change anything in terms of tax savings and unless Kaman requests one to find some PT on a contender I don't see any reason for that to happen.

Apparently we got a 2.8 million trade exemption with the Blake deal.

Don't get happy about that, we got one when we dealt Sasha too some years ago.......and didn't use it. And that one was more than this measly TPE.

it means nothing. lakers will renounce it in favor of raw cap space this off-season

I know it means nothing. just wondered if it would be helpful if we took back a contract in order to trade down in the draft.
