I really don't know about Exum...I don't want to waste our lottery pick on someone who plays the abundant position of PG. Hope we can get into the top 3 to select either Embiid, Wiggins, or Parker.

With his size and skill, he's more than just a point guard. He's got a lot of potential.
Whoever it is, I hope the Lakers nab someone with great character and grit. A kid like that would thrive under Kobe.

While that's a good point, I would rather spend the draft pick on a SF or C -- those are the two positions we need the most help at IMO.

This kid will have a Michael Carter Williams impact for us... We need a legit PG who can set the tone and get players involved, specifically with Kobe's age & injuries... He will be legit...

Hell I just hope whoever we get is ready to kill from Day 1, we need whoever it is to be an assassin.crazyeights wrote:With his size and skill, he's more than just a point guard. He's got a lot of potential.

Id love to draft this kid, seems like he would lve to be here and I think he can be something really special when he matures. If he can bulk up, he would have legitimate swingman build with great play making instincts and thats something that would def help in todays league.

Re: Lakers Targeting Teen Dante Exum
anything we get will be fine. We have nothing now, and unlike this board's preoccupation with playing 2k to put teams together, we need resources, time and luck to put anything decent on the court.
You don't just draft a low pick and sign whoever in the offseason and turn around a negative situation like the lakers currently are in.
We need a positive, winning culture reinstalled, and to suck it up for a minimum of 2-3 years. Unless mitch knows something I don't, rookies generally don't make noticeable impact for, oddly enough, the duration of Kobe's contract.
Look, I love the Lakers and have since I was a small child, but I can handle reality. We're really bad, and it would take a miracle to even have a winning record next year.
I've made peace with it, and can respect some of the optimism my fellow fans show, but we're not doing anything anytime soon.
