This used to be a constant question by the commentators when I played 2k that I got bored of it after a while

They're going to retire both jersey's. It's so obvious and has been for a long time, otherwise they would've issued #8 to players but they haven't.

Not necessarily true. They're probably just waiting, not wanting to give it to anyone until Kobe chooses. It would look VERY stupid IMO to give Kobe Bryant TWO numbers on the wall, whereas the greatest players in NBA history only have one.

It's going to be 24.
