I think we need to either trade up -or resign Gasol, free agent acquisition and trade the #7 pick for old washed up vets like dare I say it Pierce and Garnett to form the old school team and get enough vets for cheap that we can compete even w/ injuries.

Nash/Marhsall
Kobe/Young
Melo/Pierce
Garnett
Gasol

I think the right group can come together if they all have a chip on their shoulder.

I'm down with this one. after this deal, let's all pretend we are in 2005.

From what I've been hearing Boston is really high on Gordon, If the Magic pass on Exum which is unlikely we might have a chance they are supposedly high on Vonleh and Smart.

I mean really, you all think we are keeping this pick or will be picking for someone else?

who knows? maybe the Magic pick Vonleh and then someone like Harris or Stauskas or Ennis or Anderson or LaVine instead of going for Exum?

I think Exum will be gone but Magic did say they would have drafted Smart last year if he came out therefore are very high on him... Would be surprised if he got passed Boston & Utah but would be ecstatic... Exum will be LEGIT...

Only person I see forcing a trade to the Lakers is Love. I think Kyrie Irving will ask to be traded but I don't think he is going to force his way to any particular place.

Boston would draft Exum before the Lakers can get to him.

there is of course one option noone is thinking about.

if the magic do like smart more than exum, they could trade down for our pick + salary dump or minor asset

i doubt it though, unless kobe tells pelinka to tell dante to purposely do poorly in his workout with the magic

Lakers are 100% shopping the pick, it's whether the other teams will bite that's the mystery.

Why would Exum pick any team other than the Lakers? It's clear he wants to follow in Kobe's footsteps, it's a done deal as far as I'm concerned, his agent just puts out he only wants to play for the Lakers, and then teams won't waste a draft pick on him.

Then we trade Nash's expiring contract for Kevin Love, sign Luol Deng for 10mil a year, and Pau comes back for the vet minimum.

Pau
Love
Deng
Kobe
Exum

That team should contend for a title next year.

Umm you could build that team in 2K, but not in real life. We could get Pau/rookie PF/Deng/Kobe/NArSHall.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!
