Draft Smart.
Sign Carmelo.
Re-Sign Gasol.
Find a way to bring Hill back.

G - Smart/Marshall
G - Bryant/Baze
F - MMLE (or re-sign Wes)
F - Carmelo/Kelly
C - Gasol/Hill

If we stretch Nash wouldn't that mean we'd still owe him the rest of the money after the upcoming season.

It means we pay him $3 million each of the next three seasons instead of $9 million this year.

Should be done because it means we can throw $6 million more at someone like Carmelo or LeBron.

The Lakers would be better off keeping him this season and clearing the money off the books for the future. Next year the Lakers will be able to have more flexibility... and neither Melo or LeBron will save the Lakers. Besides, both players are in their primes and want to win. Last I checked the Lakers have to fill out a roster this offseason.

umm nash 9m cones of books next year meaning lakers could spend round 20mill and have room for max next year

sign Okafor for the vets min
Resign Gasol for 16-18mill/ 2 years
Young at 20mil/ 4 years
keep Kelly and Baze
trade for perkins and 29 from OKC. Who has their future C already on their roster.
#7 Randle
#29 for a PG or Glenn Robinson III or Mitch Mcreary.

Next year Perkins, Nash, Kelly, and Baze drops off the books for roughly 20 mil enough to offer a max contract to Irving.

2015-2016
Irving
Kobe
SF (Glenn Robinson)
Randle
Pau/Okafor

Young coming off the bench.
