I think SVG is calling up every GM trying to find a trade for Josh Smith. Im thinking a gay for smith is a good deal for both teams. Pistons get rid of smiths unsightly contract and replace it with gays expiring contract (also unsightly). doing so would potentially allow them to keep Monroe? SVG has been vocal about his liking of pairing monroe and drummond together.

and in regards to meeks, yeah the contract does seem inflated, but for the offense DET will run, hes a very fitting player. No doubt that SVG sees drummond as an orlando dwight, so he'll surround him with shooters and will let the boy beast down low.

And why on earth would the Kings trade Gay for Smith. Gay is arguably a better player than Smith and on a huge expiring contract. I do see the Kings going after Smith but they arent trading Gay.Probably something like JT, Willaims, and Terry.

Ultimately, for financial reasons. The kings cant afford to pay Cousins, Smith (shiiitty contract, but his defense is far more valuable than gays iso ball), and gay (who would probably ask for 13+ mil a season after he expires) and still plan to be competitive without a proper offensive scheme. I know gay was uber effective last season, but again, most of his points stemmed from isolation plays. and the kings desperately need ball movement

but if they can get Smith for the players you mentioned, they by all means. ive also read reports that IT for Smith may go down.

and again, if i were the kings, and we did get smith for JT, williams, Terry, then i immediately call up boston and see if i can work out a deal for rondo for the expiring Gay, ben mc, and maybe future picks (if necessary)

I just dont like a core of gay, smith, cousins, without a playmaking PG.
