Because all they have to do is sign extensions the minute a team presents it to them. Take LaMarcus Aldridge, he's already said he'll sign an extension. So he's gone.

Don't look for free agency to land us the big name, that'll come in a trade especially once they change this CBA again.

The key for us is to build a competitive team that can grow in a short span, keep our finances in check and hide out in the weeds when the next CBA dictates what teams can't function in it.

We have to pray that the new CBA which will definitely be affected by the upcoming media deals to include:

- Significantly less penalties for being a tax-team (money & team building penalties)
- A much higher cap (maybe around $80M, maybe higher)
- Increased max salaries

Any of this happens, and the Lakers are back to being who we were! If theres one thing we know how to do, its spend our way to success

The second the Love to Cleveland rumor started... I believed we would get love. Cleveland isnt a bold franchise, they can't wrap their heads around the idea that you to take a chance. They will wrongly refuse to part with wiggins and love will be available all year. Lakers are going to have to be very creative with a 3 team trade, but it will be there.

did we not learn anything about free agents this off season? they most likely will resign with their old team and nobody wants to play for the Lakers anymore (for basketball reasons, thanks Stern). best thing to do is to trade, that's what Mitch is best at.

We don't have any assets though. The front office didn't get anything in return for Gasol and we're leveraged out with our picks in the next 3 years. Nobody's trading all stars for expiring contracts anymore never mind superstars. So unless we're including Randle and Houston's first rounder in deals we have very little to work with. We're pretty much stuck trying to land free agents every year only for them to avoid signing with a team going nowhere.

I believe in Mitch, he got Lin for nothing.
