any rumors or updates with our DPE? any plans?

Post#1 » by thegamefritz » Wed Dec 10, 2014 6:27 pm

I'm not hoping for big names but atleast we can get someone that can help us in the future. I'm saying in the future because I want us to keep the pick.

do you guys think we can get MCW? he would be nice a young PG and it won't hurt a cap also.
sixers tanking and would surely go after Mudiay.

if we get to keep a pick then we'll have 3 young players that can help next year. MCW, Randle, an Okaflor or Karl towns

Today I saw a rumor that the Lakers could get Deron Williams. I threw up a little when I saw that. But I'm certain that won't happen.

We thought we could get Earl Clark for the minimum but those bastards in China have more money to offer.

We need to cut X.

R Kelly needs to grow a pair and suit up.

We need to find teams looking to save on cap room before the deadline to use the two DPE (which cannot be combined.)

From what I saw on Twitter we encouraged Earl to sign in China since he could come and play in the NBA after the CBA's season is over.

I think if we're rumored to be going after DWill, we're really going after Brook... Which I actually might be able to get behind... Hill/Nash for the good Lopez bro.

He is sort of injury prone lately, but when not injured, he's right up there with the top bigs in the league. And Hill is most likely going to walk anyway, so why not?
It's not a home run, but bring him in, let him recover as long as he needs, send him to Germany with Kobe for some Unicorn blood, and see what happens.

Lopez would be great... But I'm more interested in Brown. We need a Kent Bazemore again.
On Harden being MVP of this season ( I don't even like Harden much)

I'm against Lopez, Joe Johnson or Dwill... Rondo would be great but I'm asking about our DPE? who can we get for the 4.85mil and the other DPE which can not be combined. I don't think we can get a Dwill with our DPE and it will hurt our cap space next year.

any rumors for players with 5 mil or less salary?

If the Lakers can get BroLo + AK47 (might as well he's expiring, we have a gaping hope, and help them save some cash) for Nash + Hill + 2nd round pick + a wad a cash then we need to jump on that deal quick. BroLo is expiring but he gives us a real big man unlike the undersized midgets or beanpoles we throw out there now. If he does good we can keep him, if he sucks, who cares. AK47 is just a sweetener for them to save some money, 2nd rounder is irrelevant and tossing in some more cash cant hurt.

However i dont see them doing that. If they do theyre gonna turn undersized and fall out of the east playoff hunt (as woeful as that is) Nash is worthless and Hill is just some garbage big man with delusions of granduer chucking up 20 ft jumpers.

DWill is a definite no no. H'es no longer good and his contract is 1 year longer than Kobe's which thus delays the rebuild.

JJohnson is a maaaaybbeee. His contract expires same time as Kobe, he can push Kobe to SF (hell it doesnt matter where we put kobe, he aint playing D), but tbh i havent seen the Nets play in ages so i dunno what he can do for us.

Regardless trading for JJ or BroLo is an anti tank move and will push our win total up a bit. Furthermore i dont see the Nets making any moves unless its dumping DWill singly or as part of a package so they can begin to rebuild. It would be nice to have a real big man, but is it worth blowing up the tank? So unless we have a guarantee from Silver for a top 3 pick, i'd rather just continue to roll the way we are.

Everyone can forget about the tank. It's not happening as long as kobe is healthy. We are going to win some games and lose the pick. Which is why we have nothing to lose Trading for brook Lopez

The Lakers and the Knicks are big market teams with rich owners not averse to spending money. Their names get thrown into every rumored trade or free agent courting. Usually to drive buzz and in attempts to leverage for better deals by various parties, regardless of the accuracy of any such rumors.

Just because the Lakers name is thrown into the mix doesn't mean there's any truth to the rumors. Usually someone just trying to leverage the name, or clickbait by rumor mongers.

Quincy Miller?

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23 ... n-D-League

After a recent workout for the Los Angeles Lakers and considering overseas deals, free agent Quincy Miller has signed a contract in the NBA Development League, sources told RealGM.

Miller's agent, Jared Karnes, confirmed on Wednesday night that the 6-foot-10 forward has filed paperwork to enter the D-League.

Miller worked out for the Lakers last month and had been a leading candidate to earn a roster spot. The Lakers have been deliberate in deciding which wing player they want to have, continuing to closely monitor forward Roscoe Smith out of their D-League affiliate in Los Angeles, league source said.

Miller, the 38th overall pick to Denver in 2012, spent two seasons with the Nuggets and averaged 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds

Miller, 22, was waived out of Denver's training camp in October.

What's even the point? I could see if the Lakers were trying to make a playoff push but in all honesty they just need to get the top 5 pick I'd say. If they fall outside of the top 5, they're in no man's land. They do in fact have Houston's pick I believe so that helps.

Johnson is still productive and can still score (he's on my fantasy team) but that contract is horrible and he's 33. Lakers need to get younger and start fresh using draft picks and young guys in FA like Reggie Jackson for example.

We need the tank commander to get us going... We have the 7th worst record... Top 16 teams (duviosns) make the playoffs... Why add a piece unless it is a young piece... Let's start losing and accumulate draft picks and assets... I would trade Randle for MCW...

You would do a Randle MCW trade? Really? I WOULD NOT DO THAT!

No way you would trade a big for a PG especially that PG is the most replaceable position and there's tons of PG out there!! You would only trade a big for a PG if PG is elite like CP3, Wesbrook, John wall

I wouldn't mind bringing in someone like Patric Young that the Pelicans released recently. Then we can trade JHill for something decent once the FO decides it's tank time.
