That was a fun game, we are not tanking until end of january or early febuary. Kobe will keep pushing these guys.
that is like the 4 th game of the season that i was able to watch, and kobe is taking some of the hardest shots i have ever seen, its no wonder hos fg%are so low!
Young was amazing, if it was jamal crownford or even nick young on another team that had a game like these against us, a lot of guys would be complaining.
This game made miss the good old days..

I should've been a little more clear in what I meant by that. I meant in terms of games as the season progressed. Like I mentioned he's gonna put up his numbers like the double double he got, but Tim will have times when he'll fade. I know guys revere him, I'm just not afraid to go into games facing him like I did in the early 2000's. So when I say he can't impact games I say it because I don't think he can carry them like in the past. The Spurs method of attack is perimeter based, the success of that will open him up to score.Sedale Threatt wrote:DEEP3CL wrote:He's can't impact games anymore...
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Pretty much anything you look at, from the box score stuff to advanced measures, indicates he's still one of the better players in the NBA. But hey, I know, egg heads and nerds and stats and all of that, so we can continue pulling stuff out of our ass that isn't grounded in reality.
I mean, just last night I saw him go for 19 points, 18 rebounds, block 2 shots and score what would have been the winning basket unless Young hits a 5 percent shot. You tell me how that's not impactful...
If the Spurs are hitting jumpers they look unbeatable, when they go through stages of not hitting Tim is limited and the Spurs are very very limited in term of how they can play.
If the Lakers were a much more stout group of defenders, the Spurs would've never gotten back into that game. But the Lakers are no such team because they have consistent breakdowns on defense and offense which hampers their ability to control games.

Yeah he did, but I don't think you can gear or tailor your offense to his game. His game isn't built to carry an offense possession by possession. And the fact the Spurs have to rely on Parker's health is a major wrench in the Spurs plan to repeat...which they won't. At least 3 teams maybe 4 in the west can beat them and beat them in different ways.TyCobb wrote:DEEP3CL wrote:Gonna post this for the lurkers and Spur lurkers....they may be a veteran team, but the Spurs a long in the tooth and are way too dependent on a wing defender who isn't even a scorer.
The Spurs won't make it out the west this post season and you can bank on that. I've seen them play lazy and they let teams hang around and have some bad losses already. That old "they'll get it together" mantra is old. Yeah Duncan puts up decent numbers, but that's mostly because he's adjusted his game to his declining loss of athleticism.
He's can't impact games anymore and playing through him would actually weaken them because it takes possessions away from their "move the ball" system. Simply put the Spurs aren't winning the title and sadly it means no repeating for them as always.
Leonard took a BIG leap this year as far as his offensive game is considered. They'll still be dependent on Parker's health though.

Crazy my man...In years past that was valid and irrefutable. But they're 6th in the west and have lost to the Nets, Jazz and Lakers in the last 10 days !crazyeights wrote:Right now the Spurs are simply sleeping.
And when you look at the rest of their schedule for the next few weeks, they could easily find themselves in 8th before we even reach New Years Day. They have the Blazers, Griz, Blazers,Mavs, Clips, Thunder, Pelicans and Rockets. That's a guillotine stretch, granted 5 of the games are home games but those teams are good to great road teams.
If they're sleeping as you say....then that stretch would be someone putting a pillow over their face with thoughts of suffocating them.

If the Suns don't start winning, they can kiss Dragic goodbye.
I'd imagine they will trade one of the three point guards pretty soon.

I guess you mean he can't dominate, rather than he can't have impact, fair enough.

Well, it depends whether their guys are healthy. Most important is Splitter. They start Bonner instead and it's not pretty. If Splitter, Parker and Leonard are healthy, with Mills back, it's a totally different team.
