Why not fix it now when he can't play anyways? Good move.

I think they're just keeping him out for the season for the drat pick. Honestly, the initial injury was not a season ending one, so this only makes sense, in a weird way.

Uh... he was really good really quickly. Still think he's a tweener. Nail that SF, you can do it.

Randle is a true PF. very real and true PF. His quickness and ballhandling skill are just bonus.

i dont know why there are so many misconceptions about Randle's game.

PF size with a PF game.

Ugh. I don't even know where that myth even originated from. Calipari had him banging in the paint all year at Kentucky.

I think this is great news. Let the other shoe drop and give the kid a clear head going forward.

Not fixing this now would have made the lurking foot surgery some sort of boogeyman.

The only "tweener" thing about randle is his "short" arms, which is in fact not short at all (like, 7' long wingspan)
He is a BIG PF with ball handling skill. Man as i write this it makes me think of randle is kinda like odom with dope strength but somewhat less secure ballhandling.. thats scary good..

I don't even think were getting a draft pick so that idea doesn't make sense.

Should have fixed it in November. I was hoping Randle could play the last few games of the season.

That'd be nice but I can understand why they do this now; it'd be a big disability to have two broken places on the leg, they got the disability exception, and there's nothing wrong with playing it safe.

Sounds like the foot surgery is just a long term precaution. Learning that it wasn't necessary, but just smart to do while he's out puts my mind at ease

Smart decision to have him do this. It wasn't needed, but if he's going to be out anyways, might as well do it now.

rookies usually barely contribute wins unless they are truly once in a generation type talents (ala duncan). i think playing randle wouldve not made a difference in us winning any games, i think were just being safe because theres no point in risking his health in a meaningless season.
