They should make points in the paint worth 3 and everything outside of the paint worth 2 points.

Don't you worry I have a feeling the Sixers and Hinkie alone will bring the curtains down on the analytics pretty soon.

There's a need to balance a pragmatic line between using analytics to base your decisions and making basketball related decisions, right now the hipster thought-train is steering it far too much along the other side, which is why experiments like the Sixers are starting to happen. Once that blows, which it certainly will, the gravy train will come to a halt and people will start looking at things more purposefully like Buford, Kupchak and Presti do.

Knowing how fickle the owners are once they see a system fail, they will do whatever they can to distance themselves and move in the other extreme direction.

I'm not even against advanced stats, but everything in moderation. Being one of the worst teams year in and year out is hardly a science. One of the all-time great players, Lebron, was best-case scenario for rookie impact and he didn't win until his 9th season, after he teamed up with two other stars on a different team.

The Sixers won't win squat until they make a trade for something other than second rounders.
