WT: Lakers Sign Michael Frazier To Multi-Year Deal

Post#1 » by EArl » Tue Aug 25, 2015 8:47 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed Michael Frazier to a multi-year deal.

The 21-year-old Frazier, a 6’4’’ shooting guard, most recently played for the Golden State Warriors in the 2015 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 4.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 15.8 minutes per game over six contests (all starts).

In his three collegiate seasons at the University of Florida (2012-15), Frazier averaged 9.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 25.7 minutes per game while shooting 44.3% from the field and 43.2% from beyond-the-arc.

I can live with all these projects/raw players being signed if we can round out the roster with veterans... I really hope we pull off the Chalmers/Andersen trade then dump Kelly/Sacre.

Its all moot point unless we know how much money is guaranteed but I think they like him enough to invite him to camp even if our SG spot is loaded.

Slava- Not sure how it makes sense to invite all these players to camp with the roster at 15 the Lakers need to open up a few roster spots to give these guys a chance to make the team.

Yeah but we still don't know who's guaranteed a roster spot. Anyone from Sacre/Black/Jabari Brown/Anthony Brown/Holmes/Frazier could be cut or they could still be fielding deals for Kelly and Young.

50k ... They are guaranteeing just enough money to pay these guys twice a NBDL salary for preseason camp. The idea is getting them to try out, and if they fail, have the, join the Dfenders based out of the loyalty you paid for. With these small guarantees these guys pull in about 75k for being a Dfender

Thanks for the explanation Kblo. Honestly, 75k to play basketball beats a lot of other jobs haha. I also wonder if the Lakers have a trade deal on the table?

Training camp rosters are up to 20, how does it not make sense to invite all these players to camp?

Can he play the PG spot? I think he can defend 1 and 2... don't think the 3 for larger players like Lebron and Durant.

Id say Anthony brown is safe. He has a 4 year contract and I believe at least the firat 2 years are guaranteed for slightly above min.

Tarik Black is probably safe as well.

I did not know Michael Frazier once hit 11 threes that is really Impressive the good thing about the addition of Frazier... Is that it gives the Lakers the flexibility of putting Jabari Brown in trade proposals .. I'm interested to see if any of the young players are added in a Young/Sacre/Kelly trade.

He'll more then likely end up with the D-Fenders. I think Jabari Brown will beat him out.
