Intensity - I agree with most of the comments here, Lakers really as a team played with no intensity minus a few players.

Perhaps Scott is not really the coach for a young team.

MWP - yes, he has not been a scorer like the old Artest in the last few years. But what this guy brings is intensity. When he plays the team's defensive intensity picks up. You can see him constantly barking at teammates for defensive assignments.

Offense - last game of the pre- season, the team still looked like the way they play in the Vegas Summer league. Finally in the second half, they started swinging the ball around, heck actually saw players moving without the ball.

Not impressed with Scott's coaching one bit.

Nash was a warrior... Not sure he was really that much different than Kobe in that regard. Just maybe a little less angry about it.

If Russell can be Nash-like, even in spirit, then I have no problem... That's not what I've seen so far though...

And I question how much Russell is absorbing from Kobe. Time will tell, but so far, all I see is confidence, not competitiveness.

Randle clearly has that in your face mentality so you may be right about him being more like Kobe. Clarkson has it too. Which brings us back to what role will Russell play?

Just from a mentality standpoint... I don't see any of the greats there right now... Magic and Isaiah, as much as they smiled, still wanted to kick your ass... Nash was a nice guy, but tough as nails on the court. Kidd didn't mess around... GP was a jovial assassin... He was only smiling when he was killing you. Stockton was granite.

Right now, I see more Ricky Rubio in Russell than anything.
