Because it's based on who the fans want to see, not on who's playing the best ball or deserves to be in or not...

It's a fans vote first, Kobe has a huge fan base looking at the 2015 voting clearly shows how we'll you're playing has very to do with it

as for Westbrook, you're right he should be getting more recognition, not sure why he's shunned by the fans... Lillard, like Lin the year before were "prisoner of the moment votes"

well that's the point. Westbrook is far more exciting to watch than any of those guys on that list with the exception of Curry. The only reasons i can see why he isn't is because of how ridiculously small the OKC market is.

there's no accounting for sports fans sometimes, we're a fickle group as a whole. Easily swayed by shiny new things...lol

He made it in the last two seasons pretty undeservedly (was still in the top 5 of all votes), but his current level of play is incredibly bad right now. I'm wondering if this apparent steep regression as well as the emergence of other players in the league will be enough of a factor for him to finally lose his spot.

Definitely! I'm sure Leonard would let Kobe start over him in that game too.

Nobody plays hard defense, so how is anyone's play exciting if they are not going up against real opposition?

let him coach the rising stars. (the other coach would be MJ or LeBron, but it won't happen.)

As a fan, yes.

As a player, yes ... even the guy who'll lose his spot.

Looking forward to watching D Lo in the skills challenge. Kobe will be Luke's or Kerr's "coach's choice" filler. Then again, fans select the starting five...

We all decided to keep him feeling salty, so he'd go crazy dunking and scoring in the next All-Star game too...
