The fact that he can play off-ball and has a willingness to pass, and for team ball-movement is a great sign for the future.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Damn, some guys seem to have forgotten that players take time to develop. I don't mean 21 games, I mean seasons.

D'Angelo will never be a point guard? You know that he was playing SG a lot of the game, right? He was playing with Huertas. Regardless, as Kilroy said, D is a scoring PG. For me that's what I want. We need a guy who can create like CP3, but can take over like Kobe. I think that's in D'Angelo's DNA. The Clippers biggest problem the last few years is CP3 hasn't been able to dominate games down the stretch. That's what the NBA comes down to usually is one player putting the team on his back.

That possession where he jab-stepped a few times, didn't even dribble and rose up for a long 3 over Rubio to put us down 2 was huge. It showed his ability to take and make big shots. The kid is 19 years old.

Also, I totally disagree, I think D'Angelo played solid defense. Especially down the stretch where he was sagging off the in-bounds pass. He was very disruptive. After the play you could see Kobe was proud of the kid.

Last night was a huge leap forward. He was playing with the proper urgency and aggression that 2nd half. Anyone who doesn't see that is frankly missing the point.

Ain't nothing wrong with being a scoring guard. James Harden drops 30 points and 7.4 assists a night as a scoring guard. Curry drops 32 pts and 6 assists. A lot of the Laker fan base gets butt hurt when you call out a player's weaknesses. He just doesn't get into the seams consistently looking to create for others with his size and speed. And come on man, just because he plays better defense than terrible Clarkson at pg (and he eventually will at sg with his tools) does not make him a good defender. He got destroyed by shabazz quite a bit there. If Rubio wasn't so bad a scorer he might've done something when he did get into the lane. Not everyone is Lebron James, every player in the league has flaws. There's nothing wrong with being a dominant scoring guard and having a team built around you that has strong defenders to compliment you. And yeah... I'm saying he has potential to be a star here... something that will obviously take a 2-3 years to flesh out. It takes years to develop not just 21 games, but with his potential do you honestly think he's going to become the lebron of the pgs or something with his tools? If people are asking how D'angelo looked out there I'm gonna tell it how it is. I'm stoked about his potential and think the conversation of D'angelo v Porzingis just got a lot closer after the flashes he showed last night. Yep, enough to call him a potential star.

Shabazz scored a whopping 3 field goals last night. He's also 30 lbs heavier, so it's a tough match-up for D'Angelo. I still think D'Angelo has much better defensive potential than a lot of other scoring guards. Especially with his size. I like the way he goes over screens.

Yeah shabazz is a tough match-up to guard even for some small forwards, so definitely a match-up a good coach would've avoided. But nonetheless he actually had 6 field goals and dropped 15pts in 15 minutes which were primarily on D'lo. But who cares D'lo's cookin tonight! :D the future is getting brighter

Yeah I'm not sure what boxscore I checked before posting that. 6 FGs indeed.
