The playoffs aren't over either, I think he'll still have a good game in there.
Overall... honestly I think Toronto is a good fit for him, and I don't love him on this team. He's a better player than what he's showing though; man he's been brutal.
Agree that TOR is the best fit for him: most money, contract length, and that team is truly still in construction, Ujiri isn't done tinkering that's for sure.

I got that proof last year with the Lou Williams signing.

Word is that he's got a bad thumb. Is that the underlying reason for his poor performances? Take it how you wish.

Oh, we have lots of proof. I guess I meant that would remove all doubt.

Did he have a bad thumb the last 2 playoffs too?

I might be wrong about this because I don't study the man's every move, but I get the sense that he's kind of Iguodala-ish. He plays good defense and is a good team player that appears to be improving every year. The truth is that there are only 2 sure bet free agents this year: LeBron and KD... and neither are leaving. So we're taking a chance on anybody we sign - might as well go with the players that the FO and Luke believe can maximize their strengths. This isn't about the Derozan you're seeing in the playoffs... this is about a trajectory and a different system for a 26 year old player who's proven he can play and has the desire to be better. I wouldn't get too histrionic about it either way. He's a good player and we can use more of those any way you slice it.

That'd be cool if he did.

He's had one good game, and the thumb thing surfaced relatively recently.
But beyond that, he also hasn't played smart basketball. It hasn't been poor, and historically Derozan been's actually really good at improving his game year to year, so I guess a lot of it depends on whether or not you think he can still improve his playoff performance. I think he can, just not by leaps and bounds, which is what I'd want to see.
Still think he's pretty good though, and more to point just not a great fit.

He's from Compton and went to USC...does that mean we have a chance at signing him? The Lakers are not in a position to choose, I think we would be lucky to get him....but my guess is that he would not consider us.
Funny how some guys think he's trash after going through a 65-loss season.

You clearly have no issue signing him to a max deal
I hope he doesn't consider is, REALLY hoping Toronto pulls out a fat offer for him before he can even hit free agency.

I have a funny feeling Toronto has seen enough Derozan...lol I know I have, not seeing the hype. Not like he's a kid just learning the game, six years in I think what you see is what you get..miggs wrote:Hank7 wrote:He's from Compton and went to USC...does that mean we have a chance at signing him?
