I've always wanted to see a team get the top 2 picks in the same draft.
Can you imagine if that happened in:
'82 Worthy and Wilkins
'84 MJ AND Hakeem!!!
'85 Ewing and Malone
'87 The Admiral and Pippen (D-fense!)
'92 Shaq and Zo (twin towers)
'93 Webber and Penny
'96 Kobe and AI
'97 Duncan and TMAC
'98 Dirk and Pierce
'03 LeBron and Wade
'08 Westbrook and Love
'09 Steph and Blake
Would you do this trade
#2 3'Angelo
#6 Randle (third season - free agency coming)
Clarkson (expensive free agent)
for
#1 pick Simmons
Team up the dynamic duo of Simmons and Ingram (create Simgram!) and we will have the most cap space in the NBA for a group of super friends to come to LA.
It's an interesting, outside of the box idea. My thought process is to lock up 2 future franchise players to rookie deals and win free agency either this season or next season. And to also avoid the treadmill where the young talent has to get paid (Clarkson this year, 3rd year Randle soon). Please be nice, but let me know if this is just crazy enough to work.
