It's basically a 10-step process...

1. The conversation starts with the "other players" we're bringing in along with him... otherwise there's zero chance. Those are BOTH trades for players named either Paul George or Chris Paul AND free agent signings like Conley or Horford.

2. Then Nike comes into the room and says, if you sign in LA then we will renegotiate your contract for $500M - the second highest Nike player next to Lebron.

3. Then Luke tells him that he's going to be plugged into an offense like GSW, the team he just lost to. And he gets to be the Curry of that offense. The main attraction.

4. Then Kobe walks in and tells him there's no better city in the world than LA to be the man. He bro hugs him.

5. Then Magic walks in and tells him how LA is the best city to become a media mogul and a billion dollar brand.

6. Then Mitch tells him Russell had already agreed to come to LA 3 years ago.

7. Then you bring in a Seattle Supersonics fan who reminds him that everybody hates the OKC Thunder and they are cursed.

8. Then just before Jim Buss says a word, you shove a chocolate bar (or poop) in his mouth. And send KD on his way.

9. Then you wait patiently for KD's agent to call us back to tell us he's staying in OKC.

10. Then you tell your fans that Ingram is definitely the next KD.

KD will Listen to all the pitches and then go back to OKC for his last year and redo free agency in 2017 based on the 2016 free agency pitch. So even if we don't get him the pitch is important.

A one and one for KD in OKC might not be the worst thing to happen for the Lakers. Moves the critical moment of truth to next off season. Keep all the capspace, dont sign any big long term contracts. Keep Clarkson. Keep developing Russell, Ingram, Randle and Clarkson.

Next offseason the Lakers can become a very promising destinations with the ability to sign 2 superstar free agents and trade 2 of the young core with possibly a pick for a 3rd superstar and still be able to keep some good young prospects to fill out the team.

I think that's the most likely scenario. Ingram hasn't even played yet. The Lakers young core hasn't made any noise yet.

Hopefully by 2017 off season free agents will look at the Lakers like Shaq looked at the Lakers in '96 and how LeBron looked at the Cavs in '14. They have some good young players. I can be the man. I'm coming.

One thing. If we sign Conley and/or Whiteside this season, we might have a chance at Durant. If we don't, I don't think we stand a chance. Slightly overpaid this year will mean middle of the road or below next season when offers will skyrocket. We can trade both of them away by then if we want. Many seismic roster shifts will occur next summer, pieces will move. Conley and Whitside can be very movable pieces if we don't overpay by too much,

He's a Grandpa now, isn't he? 6) Rudy Gobert. 9-points 11-rebounds..didn't take a 3 all season. I'll pass. 7) Gordon Hayward. Oh Boy. 8) Kyle Lowry. Giannis will be restricted and theres no way the bucks let him walk. He's the greatest thing to happen to that team in YEARS.

Cousins will be a free agent in two years (unrestricted) We might as well wait it out and develop the young guys to see if they have the star potential. If they do have the star potential, then we can easily sign cousins without losing any valuable assets. Same can be said for Paul George, etc.
