This is good. Metta could be our 15th guy if he makes the team or be a special coach (defense) if he can't make the team. We could use him in practice. Teach Kids to play D. Defend Ingram in practice to toughen him up. I like this move.

Great training camp addition. I'm sure Mitch will have Meta push Ingram around next week. Meta won't make the final roster, could get a coaching role though.

Robinson is also a great training camp addition. High energy player with a low IQ for the game. He's a nice body to go against with Randle , Nance, Zubac. Robinson might have a shot at making the roster. I honestly rather have him than Yi.

Yi , Robinson , Zac, Meta will all battle for the final spot next week. My first option would be Zac.

Was a waste of space last yr, another yr older, slower and generally that much worse. Mentoring factor is overatted....how much of that helped last yr? Deng, jose, even huertas are more than enough for that role

Love Artest. Always will. If it's for the min...then great. I'd take him over Mozgov...and he's prob less than 1-10th the price. Go rough up these guys in practice.....a little sh***t will do the youngsters good.

Still remember that 3. Huge factor in a game-7 win over the Goombas. Laker family, IMO. Just wish we coulda signed him about 4-5 years earlier. Always glad to have Artest on the team.

Ingram says he loves to have MWP guard him every day, he appreciates playing against one of the greatest defenders in the league every day, and the fact that he's teaching him how to play defense by using footwork and his length...

I have to think that must be why we signed him. If he plays at all, I expect him to get warmed up enough for actual minutes sometime around March.

That's good to hear. I think your right too....prob won't see much playing time. I don't think he cares too much. He just wants to be part of it all.

Funny....he really seems to have invited himself into the "Laker family". They seem happy to have him around as well. Such a shame he didnt arrive earlier in his career. Kobe and Artest woulda been pretty lethal...back in like 05-06ish. I'm sure the title has added the fondness he has for the team...but he certainly seems to want to be a Laker.

He's a little out there....but he seems like such a good guy at heart. I am glad he's working with Ingram, and taking it to him defensively. Wonderful to hear.

I was dead against signing him when we did but boy did he prove me wrong. IMO, he won us that final against the Celtics and for that, he's earned the right to wear purple and gold for life as far as I'm concerned. I thought the risk of him blowing up and getting a lifetime suspension was just a matter of time. Metta cooled off, matured and kept his temperament together. Still not ruling out a relapse. Lol.
