Lou Williams

What are your thoughts on his role on the team? Is he trade bait? I could see a team like GSW or SAS absolutely loving him on their bench - he seems like he's stuck between DLoading and JC and his scoring punch is a waste on a rebuilding team. I would rather have an expiring contract + 1st round pick for him. He seems like he can score 20 pts on a nightly basis - although his defense is too bad for him to be a starter.

A deal like Lou to Boston for Jerebko, James Young, and a future 1st could work. BOS needs a backup SG, but they love Jerebko. Another deal could be sending him to OKC for Ersan Ilyasova and their 1st round pick this year.

[I don't see any team with a true system based around ball movement like GS or Spurs wanting Lou. The same reasons you want to trade him are the same reasons they wouldn't want him. I think Detroit or NOP could come calling but they don't have much to offer back in return.

I highly doubt OKC wants to add Lou when they already have 3 guards that will require the rock in Russ, Dipo and Payne.

He has a great contract (by the new standards) so he would be sought after. He's one of those guys that we don't need, but who has alot of scoring talent.

One thing I like about this team is that Russell, Clarkson, Calderon, Williams, Young, Ingram, Deng, and to a lesser extent Nance, and Randle, can all create their own shots (I feel like I'm missing someone). I think that's a pretty nice thing to have on a team.

Listen...If some great deal comes along, then awesome. But I really REALLY think we aughta just roll with this team for the season, and then make these kind of decisions next offseason. I know Young has found his touch....and suddenly he's everyone's bff. But let's get some REAL games under our belt....let the team develop, and assess what we have once the 'law of averages' has a better chance to rear it's ugly (sometimes pretty) head.

You stop and think about it....we have young guys at every position. Guy's who need to get playing time. And here you have a guy with a really cheap contract, who's perfectly comfortable coming off the bench....why would you wanna mess with that? And exactly who/what are we gonna get in return? Will it be someone so valuable that you ditch the plan, and insert them into the starting lineup to the detriment of one of our youth.....or will it be just another bench guy....accomplishing nothing?

It's been a common theme for a week or so around here....but I personally think you gotta give this team at least 40-50 games to settle in before you start deciding so and so fits or so and so doesn't. You find a trade that makes us a playoff team, and I'm all for it...otherwise I am against it.

I'd keep Lou on his deal. He's offense and he's also insurance. If someone should go it's Young.
