I'd assume nothing. They bought all existing contracts as well.

As for the general state of the news media however.....

nothing, Time Warner Cable and Time Warner Inc are completely separate companies.

TWC and Charter just merged into Spectrum anyway

It's so weird hearing Bill saying "Spectrum SportsNet proudly presents to you...". I was so used to Time Warner Cable SportsNet...

What if AT&T decide to sell to Saudi Arabia or China or Putin in 5 years? Would people then have a problem with this type of dangerous vertical integration ownership?

Gotta go update my payment details for LP now.

Spectrum sucks... I hated TWC for their service and costs... But they had nice features. Now most of those little things don't seem to work anymore... Like I can't watch live playoff baseball on my phone whilst soaking in the tub anymore...

i still think the tw deal will have a long term negative effect on the team. less exposure = less fans obviously. we used to have one of the best home crowds in the league! its gonna take time before we get it back and honestly i dont see it happening while the lakers is still under the tw contract.

ATT owns DirecTV, Time Warner and UVerse... all that's left is for them to buy Dish and corner the market and raise prices. So much for competition.

Can you imagine an NBA where 70% of the teams are owned by the same owner including most of the contenders. Thats what ATT is doing TV entertainment.

We need is the Netflix of Sports. Internet only sports service for $8 a month. We get all the games commercial free. That's would amazing.

I hated Time Warner for no practical reason at all. As soon as Time Warner bought the games from Fox we went the wrong way in 2012. In 2012 I had DirecTV and had to go to bars to watch the games for the first few months. The Laker games were even blocked out with league pass. It was such a slimey thing to do.
