Opportunities like this work only if the recipient is an eager, willing learner and student. The one thing about this that makes me very hopeful is that to all appearances, BI is just a much more humble guy that fits the above. More than any of our other players.

The other thing is that most of the other players saw the raging, competitive side of Kobe that was sometimes over the top and nasty when he wanted to win so badly and was frustrated with his own failing body. BI won't get the brunt of that, but only the retired, wise-old-man kobe. No doubt Kobe will challenge him, and not coddle him, but neither will he destroy BI's psyche.
