Don't care what this does big-picture. Jeanie may or may-not ultimately run the team. I have my issues with her, but I'm all for giving her and Magic/Rob a few years to right the ship. Homeboy ran it straight into an iceberg year one...and burned then engines out trying to sail straight through.

Have a dozen 4-letter words for the doofus.....but I'll just wait and enjoy it next year when this team doesn't suck complete arse. It'll be nice to know the Jim Buss era has been turned around.

The guy can't find his way out of a cardboard box. Master plan, my a**. In typical Jim fashion...the trade window was closing without him having a clue what to do. He found himself kicked to the curb.....got all butt-hurt, and tried to steal the team from his sister. That blew up big-time in his face...with a judge immediately putting a stop to it, as it was totally illegal. Not to mention the guy he named to take over puts out a public statement that he has no idea what this little moron is trying to do...but he wants no part in it.

A month later, she's already gone and removed him....a court has stamped it. He's been replaced with a new trustee...and the little goon can go play with whatever gum is in his pockets. He'll pull one over on her like he'll build a title-winner.

Well thing Luke has to out coach pop in order for the Lakers to have a chance of beating them in a best of 7 same thing goes for Kerr too. Another thing is our players co-existence because that will another big factor. I mean without those then we are a 2nd round team at best. Also another thing is to keep the Sixers from getting a top 5 pick next year from us.

Not just her character, her actions... You guys have spent so much time hating Jim, you haven't noticed what an ass-clown Jeannie is...

Point being, they're like twins if you strip away the bull. Jeannie has resented Jim since forever... Her actions now are not as altruistic as she would like you to believe, and she has been actively sabotaging Jim and in turn the Lakers for the last few years to achieve this goal. The ball was rolling when Dr Buss decided not to hire Phil.

When Jeannie says "I want the lakers to win" you should translate that to "I want Jeannie Buss to win."

So no, at the end of the day, I'm not that optimistic about any of this... I don't think Jeannie knows what she's doing from a basketball perspective and Magic is not the right person to be advising her. About the only bright spot may be Pelinka, but it sounds to me like he's on a really short leash... Which I think should frustrate the hell out of Lakers fans.

This is the Magic and Jeannie glory show... And I'm not really that interested.

I hope the optimism this has created proves to be justified. I hope big name free agents start lining up to sign here... But I think the reality of the way the league is structured now, precludes that. So I don't really think having someone like Magic in place of Jim really matters a whole lot.
Our future is going to come down to how smart and creative Pelinka is, and how much freedom he's afforded to act... Everything else is smoke and mirrors.
