If cousins resigns in New Orleans and the Lakers acquire George this summer, in the summer of 2019 the Lakers will be the destination of choice for one Anthony Davis.
Paul George immeadiately brings this team back to respectability (much like Ceballos did).
George with Ingram and, hopefully, Josh Jackson, with Nance, Russell and a veteran 3&D role player (Holiday, Hill, Collison, or Bradley) makes this team very promising.
There would've been no Shaq without first getting Ceballos in free agency. Without the success that Ceballos brought, as the kids matured, Shaq would not have been interested in the Lakers.
Likewise for George's "star", and resulting success (comparable to Ceballos' first couple of years in L.A), his presence (and Cousins resigning) opens the door for Anthony Davis in 2019.
Let the dominoes fall.
I would love to get Anthony Davis. I know for a fact his agent want's him here in La.
I get the feeling though that it will be us going after Cousins in 2018.
Cousins presence on New Orleans would make it much easier for Davis to leave when his time comes (2020).
With that in mind, I'm hoping Cousins locks in (with New Orleans) as soon as he possibly can.
That's not as easy of a decision for me. If Davis didn't have such an injury history I wouldn't even think twice.
As much as I can't stand Cousins attitude, he's so good, and for the most part healthy.
The decision will probably come down to how much the front office thinks they can have a positive impact on Cousin's attitude.
