George will reportedly weigh his options regarding his future as early as this weekend, per the Indianapolis Star.

This could be crucial.

"Indiana could make the pre-draft agreement to trade George for Ball, and then swap Ball. The Pacers could send Ball to Sacramento for the fourth and 10th picks, conceivably, giving them theoretically De'Aaron Fox and Zach Collins or Lauri Markkanen..."

hmmmmmm.. I noticed Sacramento has the 5th not the 4th.

If I was Magic and Pelinka, I'd phone Indiana tomorrow morning and offer the following:

Randle, Moz, Clarkson, #28 for Paul George and Jefferson. Tell them they have 24 hours to accept or the deal or it's coming off the table and the offer will never include Randle after that.

Yeah I really don't think the #2 pick will be included after all when they trade for PG. Every minute, his trade value's dropping. Let's see after he makes his "decision over the weekend".

Yeah, it is still a weekend for PG unfortunately. LOL

How would you guys feel about a PG/Ellis/Jefferson for #2/#28/Clarkson/Nance/Deng deal

Ellis is expiring if waived before the end of the 2017-18 season. Jefferson is only guaranteed for ~4 mil so the Lakers keep their cap space while also dumping Deng.

I'm higher on clarkson than many of you all I assume because I see value in having essentially a younger Lou Will esque bench gunner and I love Nancy's energy. But IMO the #2 is a necessity.

I would not give up #2 under any circumstances for George.

replace the #2 with randle and you got a deal, we'll even throw in the 2018 DEN and CHI 2nds we own

otherwise, the #2, Dlo and Ingram are nigh on untouchable

sorry

Not trading the #2 or Randle for disgruntled, sure to be a free agent Paul George... That's silly...

There's no trade that makes sense for us right now. George is sure to walk and we don't really need him.

Trading a combo of Randle/Clarkson/28 makes all the sense in the world since it allows you to get him without dipping into your future cap. Actually helps future cap direction since you're not having to make a decision on Randle's contract that would eat into the ability to sign a second star player.

If pacers were to accept an offer like that, which I'd be shocked if they did, lakers have to jump all over it. Too bad I think the pacers might just be better off letting George test free agency.

Only if you think Randle won't be worth every bit of his contract...

And giving up Randle and Clarkson and 28 without also dumping either Deng or Mozgov is not only overpaying a whole lot, it also doesn't really help our future cap all that much.

It's a fair trade if George was on contract for 2 years. But that's too much young talent gone that we accrued for sucking for all those seasons. Ya it will simply take too much youth from us to get George. I'm really interested to see what Ball, DLo, Ingram, Randle, and Clarkson can do together. We could literally become what Golden State is now down the line.

Yeah and if the kids really improved next season, PG will play the "KD part". A lot of haters will be pissed off because the mighty Lakers are back. 8-)
