Because that's going to be our future 2-3. As early as this summer, latest next summer.
So ... that's the real issue.
So what is the issue with playing DLo off ball with Lonzo Ball?

Ingram isn't a 2 guard and PG doesn't have to be forced to play the 2. Why can't all 3 share the court? Also when did Ingram become better than Russell?

Russell outside shooting did not look that good because he is not a good off the dribble shooter. but he is a good catch and shoot guy. That is one of the reasons people are calling for him to be a 2 guard. so if you use his past 2 years to judge him on his outside shooting you will be going wrong. Playing more off the ball, he will be shooting less off the dribble shots and more catch and shoot.
analytically, the set shot is worth higher value to it going in than off the dribble. Its basic stuff, just saying

Ive thought of Ingram at the 2. He would be able to defend it by giving them space due to his wingspan and post anybody. For some reason I see McGrady if they did. I doubt he adds the weight to actually be a 40min per Forward

Tmac was extremely athletic and agile as a guard. Ingram is not. Defensively he's better fit as a 3/4 than 2 chasing around 2s around screens and such. He also could have serious utility as a 4. Him at the 2 doesn't give him the mix match advantages he would get at the 4

People should be imagining a much younger Curry/Thompson duo but with better passing at their age. DLO/ZO can already shoot, give them time to develop consistency and chemistry.
I think we need to wait and see what we have. DLO isn't the outside shooter Klay and Steph are. It's almost not close. We'll see how Lonzo shoots...and how he looks in the NBA. 40% from deep in college is nice....but let's see what he gives us now that it's big-time.
I think it will be good though. Just not sure the Russell/Ball duo will be very much like Steph/Klay.
Not yet (DLO shoot)

Definitely on the Ball train right now. I think he is the type of player we need moving forward. Probably was extra critical about him at first and skeptical even thinking bust potential. But after really thinking about the type of player Lonzo is, where he is going to promote moving the ball, making great passes, making his teammates better with quickness in transition...he's the perfect match for the team imo and I think he pairs perfectly with our offensive beasts in Ingram and Russell.
I don't see his dad as an issue either. He's just a marketing guy. Hopefully Celtics pick Fultz.
One Issue however is I see the Celtics a better team with Lonzo as well. If you see how well they are doing without Isiah, it is because it has become more about ball movement to create offense. Lonzo can probably make the Celtics a much better team. But just gotta hope Celtics stay dumb and pick the consensus. Now Lonzo may not realize this either but it would actually benefit him to go to a playoff team and possibly get playoff experience right now, squaring off against Lebron a few times in the Easter conference...it's interesting.

^ Celts are picking Fultz for sure.
