Penciled in to be the worst team in the West + without a draft pick and pray Paul George will look beyond the terrible season record.
I'm trying to be optimistic but it's not looking good.
We could have added George Hill, Waiters then added PG next year. We would become a decent team this year, possibly a playoff contender. Then next year with PG we would be a #4 to #6 team in the west which would be our ceiling.
Or
We could waste a year and let our youngsters grow. Save our cap space (thanks Jim and Mitch) then look to add 2 REAL MAX guys in 2018 summer when others do not have the money or cap space to compete.
Do you want instant but limited gratification this year or do you want for the FO to swing for the fences? All these good players that are signing to MAX or near max deals are going to haunt all the teams. The Lakers are waiting for real star players to give the max to.
"Real stars". Smh. 3 straight seasons with 50+ losses, worst team in the West this year and we're still playing the "we're above adding merely good players."
