Shabazz also can't hit a three with any sort of consistency.

He's got the corner 3 but otherwise you're right, he is best used as a small ball 4 which is also how to get the best out of Deng.

Sauce?

Let's just say, quoting Breaking Bad's Saul Goodman "I know a guy, who knows a guy." :) Shabazz is also back to the agency that Pelinka used to handle. Rob used to handle him before he got the Lakers' gig if I'm right and switched to LeBron's pal before and they parted ways. Now, he's back.

You mean you read the Lakersground post right? A long time poster called the Shabazz deal a couple days ago.

I know Emplay is He Who Must Not Be Named on this board , but he said Shabaz is likely going to the lakers on his twitter (Not sure how to embed tweets and I'm feeling lazy).

Meh....he really doesn't fit in our roster, and we have good depth at his position (weirdly, we have decent depth at every position right now...) but he probably is the best FA available right now, and I guess we have to sign someone.....

Shabazz is probably better than Brewer no? Though I like Brewer on the break with Lonzo.

Either way, I guess this gives us more comfort in trading Clarkson/Deng even if we aren't getting anyone back, so that's good. I don't see Shabazz taking Ingram or KCP's minutes, so he's either going to take Brewers/Deng's minutes, or he'll be a part of the rotation if there's a trade.

also, just for fun:

speaking of Lakersground, here is a post by someone on there regarding Westbrook. Obviously take it with many many huge grains of salt:

Hey guys...I figure I'll finally share this. Two weeks before Eric eluded to Westbrook joining the Lakers, Westbrook told an individual that I know (who's employed by a team in the NBA) that he's coming to the Lakers next year with Lebron....and Paul George. I didn't directly speak to this individual, but was told by a business partner of mine.

Of course, the first question that came to my mind was how do we afford all three?? Will they all take pay cuts? Is Westbrook just talking without regard to salary cap limitations? Whatever the case may be, it coincides perfectly with Rob and Magic going for a grand slam next off season. I'll be happy with two out of the three, but all three would be insane.

A part of me thinks these stars know that it's going to be very difficult to defeat the Warriors with a two star lineup, so taking less and winning it all might not be out of the question.

considering the pay cuts they would need to take to make that happen, I call no way. Considering it's some dude with no source, I call no way again. Considering it would require Lebron James, and two other superstars playing on the same team right now to come here and take paycuts, I'll say noway again for the third time.

All that being said, JUST FOR FUN. KD took around 25 million this season. I think 75 million is a reasonable amount of capspace we can open up for next season (that's very close to how much LBJ and PG's maxes would cost)

Now do i think we can convince 3 players to take that much less than their max contracts? It's so unlikely I feel mad at myself for even sharing this random internet forum post.....but it's the peak most boring time of the off season, so why not.

Honestly, if we get Westbrook and LeBron, we don't need George... Keep Ingram and Ball and call it a day.

LeBron's obviously not doing anything on his own. And Westbrook is absolutely perfect for LA... George on the other hand, is I nice name to add to the mix of out youngsters, but kind of superfluous as an addition to Westbrook and LeBron... He's almost guaranteed to be the one getting the "Bosh/Love" treatment on the Super-friends...

LeBron and Westbrook will be a poor fit together and Westbrook is not going to leave $200 mil on the table for OKC. George and LeBron are a better fit offensively and defensive (even through I hate LeBron). Also those 2 will cost us $72 mil combined.
