this season stun everyone by making playoffs and pushing the first round series to 7 games

2018-2019 sign lebron and lonzo becomes jkidd 2.0 running the floor with lbj and ingram. everyone will talk about how "underrated" brook lopez's aquisition was. lakers win a chip on the first run with lebron.

And with Melo going to OKC, my pipe becomes closer to reality. This means PG and RW will likely stay there. Man, I'd hate to be the coach of that team.

I see Wade signing with us tomorrow, LBJ next offseason. If Wade is what it takes to get it done, sign him now. He's not gonna go to OKC because his buddy LBJ wouldn't join that team.

Wade bought out.

Does a bought out Wade (on he cheap) 2017-2019 mean a better shot at LBJ in 2018-19?

Why waste a year of his dwindling career here when he could just join Lebron tomorrow, play for a chip this year, and follow him wherever he goes next year?

That he's coming off the bench is obviously a no brainer. If that's not cool with Wade, buh-bye.

Just sayin, let's pile up the LBJ magnets.

Unfortunately I think the best players are on Golden State. Durant, Curry, and Draymond Green are the best players - wing, guard, and big - in the NBA. And they're all still in their prime. And they have an all-star caliber supporting cast.

So I would dodge Lebron, who is historically poised to fade the next few seasons, and George, who is a great player but isn't on Durant's level, and Westbrook, force of supernature nothwithstanding, isn't on Curry's level either. And his knee, age (29 in November), and style of play are together a cause for concern.

So my pipe dream is geared towards the future. I do think Lonzo Ball has the potential to be the best PG, and I'm high on Kuzma and Nance and optimistic about Ingram and Zubac.

But defense is an obvious weakness, and it would be a fool's errand to mimic Golden State's defense that relies on Draymond Green's dominance as a small ball center; nobody can do what he does.

My pipe dream is Anthony Davis. He would complete this team. He's an elite two-way center.

If we could get 1st round picks for Lopez, Randle, and Clarkson, that's a start. Maybe something for KCP too - if we can squeeze an asset out of him that'd make the signing almost worth it.

Realistically, if Anthony Davis gets tired of being stranded on a dead-end losing team, as all elite players do...I could see it happening. Philly would be the biggest threat I think, they've got lots of assets and they're in the east. But if Anthony Davis has leverage and is attracted to our pass-first culture, who knows?

Regardless, he's really the only thing the Lakers are absolutely missing, and he's an ideal fit.

Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, Nance, Anthony Davis. That could be a championship caliber team in 3-4 years.

Glad you share my AD pipe. He's the ideal fit. I still believe my pipe might happen in full, with both LBJ and AD here in 2018-19.

my pipe dream would be kawhi leonard. him alone can give our defense a much needed boost.

i could care less about ingram right now. ball, kuzma, lopez and kawhi that is the future right there.

Yeah I'm not a short term Lebron guy or a PG13 spending all the $$ and then trying to trade him three years out.

Forget!

Just sign 1 year guys again.

Go Hard On Klay Thompson to a Max Deal. He is a guy you will want to keep for the future
and he can rise in his scoring. A two way player.

Taking away GSW #3 Offsensive Player and bringing a hired gun who can fit it with Luke and these young guys.

Lonzo
Kuzuma
Klay
BI

The future. See how BI does and if he will really be the future.

but

Lonzo
Kuzuma
Klay

These 3 look like a very good foundation.

Klay is actually a couple months older than Paul George; both will be 28 by next summer.

But if we could pull PG in 2018 and Klay in 2019, then we might have a short but potent window to win some rings.

Lonzo, George, Klay, Kuzma, and Nance/Bogut

Would be a GREAT LOOK.

But I'd still try to move Lopez, KCP, Randle, Clarkson, and even Ingram to land a disgruntled superstar to put us over the top against the Warriors.

Lonzo, George, Klay, Kuzma, and Anthony Davis. Let's go.

Yeah to hell, and NO will never trade with us just like the rest of the smart teams in this league, and GS will make sure that we don't get Klay.

This is why my pipe is the one that's gonna happen. :-)

I would LOVE to have Klay Thompson here. His defense is excellent! And he's grossly under utilized as a scorer, could put up 20PPG in his sleep as a second option. I doubt it'll happen, though, so we'll have to settle for LBJ and AD next season.

I wouldn't be so sure GSW can Keep Klay.
They just spend 200 million on Curry and 48 on Ige.
They will have to sign Green.

I no KD is nice but he is not going to 10 mil to keep Klay.

KD will sign and somewhere and Klay can sign his Max in LAL and be at home with his family.

Klay is being a hired Gun who can really put on #2 numbers but now he is the #3.
He will already have 2 titles an maybe more by 2019 so who knows he can get paid.

I not so sure about AD when his contract is up.

But Lonzo, George, Klay, Kuzuma and Nance/Bogut will work

My AD pipe only happens if AD absolutely 100% unequivocally demands out, and Lopez, Clarkson, Randle etc totally shine until then. If featured from the start of the season, Lopez' 3pt shooting could be a look for them to consider next to DMC, should AD ever indeed demand out. Boogie could rebound and bully smalls down low while Lopez stretches a big out wide to the three.

Is there a chance that Boogie will rub himself the wrong way with that locker room and someone levelheaded like AD? Absolutely.

If KD can bolt, so can AD. KD was THE poster child of the new generation nice-guy superstar until he grew up and became a dick.

Exactly. For basketball reasons, he and LBJ might decide around ASB to converge in LA to dominate for a decade with Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram, Hart, KCP (when in mid-season shape).
