I agree the 2 is a priority but we need a 3 point sniper there who can also put pressure on defenses off the dribble. KCP, to me, is not worth the money he's getting now and I wouldn't re-sign him. Hart may be able to bring what he does by next year. On a very good team KCP is a 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench.

Getting a 2 guard that is a score first guy who can play good team D to go with Ball seems like a good fit.

I think by the time we figure out if we're going to get 2 Max guys or not guys like KCP will be signed for a week or two. I think we will be the "leverage" for ALL top FA's next year based on Magic's comments on his expectations. Everyone will use us to get to where they want to be. secondary level FA's will all be gone in all likelihood by the time we know what we will have.

So in short were screwed!!!!

We always are the stick other measure by it seems. Agents love to "leak" out the Lakers name it seems to leverage other moves. Hopefully having one on our side we can find a way to make quick moves early leaving us time to work on the secondary ones to fill the roster. My hope is that we're more willing to deal than in the past as well.

LET ME BE VERY CLEAR

The Lakers cannot wait to Lebron takes 4 weeks for Lebron to decide what team he's going to sign with and you know that's what he's going to do.

Then Brook Lopez gets crazy money offered to him by someone like the Orlando Magic and we are stuck with noting. and so give the top free agents the first night and then give the money to our guys who want to stay.

I would be very clear with Brook Lopez this season and his agent what our plans our and how we want him to sign with us long term. give the agent the date when you want to have him signed so he doesn't go sign anywhere else.

Good points.

We must however also talk to his agent about his defense.

I believe it will be 2 or none. If they manage to get one it won't be Lebron alone. Paul George is probably the only one that will come solo.

I'd prefer Lebron/Paul George but I'd take Boogie/Bron just the same. PG/Boogie wouldn't be the worst thing but then they are tied up in those 2 for the next 4 years and Im pretty certain that's not a contender unless someone internally explodes to all star level.

Outside of getting Lebron I don't see this team contending unless Ingram and/or Ball become serious all star players. Im not confident in either of them being top 10-15 players right now.

Two. LeBron and George.

Beyond that I wonder if the Lakers trade Ball or Ingram to unload Deng and really overhaul for a win now team.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

I really don't like this rush to go out and sign big free agents. a) we could strike out b) Even if we do succeed, it doesn't fit our time line c) In the event we do strike out, who replaces Clarkson and Randle?

My preference is to maintain the status quo. Clarkson's contract is starting to have value. There won't be a huge bidding war for Randle this summer. I think we can get him at a reasonable price. Let the young guys develop together and ride out Deng's contract. We have a glimmer of hope here in the present and I'd like to see it to fruition for better or worse.

Today's FAs want to join a ready-made team, not a extremely young squad full of raw talent. Why would LeBron, Cousins, PG, AD or other top players join LA when there are much more attractive teams talent/roster wise? The "living in the warm and sunny LA" doesn't make any sense nowadays.

The FO only job is to improve the team and get us moving in the right direction to Championships. They made some strategic gamble trades and picks to improve the team like adding Lopez, KCP and drafting Ball, Kuzma.

Considering the mess that is OKC, I have more questions regarding adding another small forward like PG. Unless Lopez improves on his game, I am more inclined to try and lure Cousins and his mercurial personality to LA. DMC's defense, offense, rebounding and 3 point shooting would be perfect with Ball, Kuzma and Ingram. That might be the #1 target unless Lopez plays like he did against the Nets.

Ball, Ingram, LeBron, Kuzma and Cousins would be the ideal target.

Cousins is the big man version of Melo. Lot's of stats but not a lot of wins. He's fools gold. I don't think he'd be a good guy to have around guys learning the game/NBA either.

Not sure we can keep Lopez if we are going after 2 Max guys. I wouldn't sign Lopez to anything longer than 2 years either. He's had his injury issues and he's getting to "that" age for bigs.

Trade for Superstars.

i'd prefer we just get one FA (probably PG) this year and then target Klay next year. Tough target in many ways, but has strong connections to LA, solves our biggest issue, and also would mean the end of the warriors as we know them.

I hope it is Zero

I don't want Lebron at his age unless it is for two years not longer than that.

PG I think he has seen his better days. Even though he is not that old.

I think this team should stay the course and get rid of Randle and Deng if possible

The team has improved.

The only two guys I would like to add when their contracts are up are:

Klay Thompson Adding a great shooter from LA area and taking away for the Dubs at the sametime.

Anthony Davis

Unless the loyal Antekuupo wants to come but seems unlikely for a loyal guy.
And Kawahi.

Keep improving the pieces.
