Re: Say No Way to LBJ!
I mean, LeBron is still the best player in the league, so it's hard to say no. But....
32 years old already, playing way more minutes than he should this year, and he comes all that inevitable baggage. I think it's reasonable to look at the total package that is LeBron and genuinely wonder if its more trouble than its worth to have him here, especially considering they can build a formidable roster through free agency this summer without him. Boogie and Paul George is much more tempting.

Re: Say No Way to LBJ!
Not really ever a LBJ fan
If he comes short term and improves the Lakers good but his game would mess up the Chemistry
of the Point Guard and up and coming Star Lonzo.
So No not really.
I like the Lakers to be patient
Go hard in 2019 after Michael T son Klay.
There is a guy I would max out before any one in 2018.
adding one of greatest of all time 3 point shooters and
taking away a great 3 point shooter from the GSW.
Klay is a two way player.
Kuzuma and Klay hitting 3's Points add up fast that way
Maybe keep Brook for the right price.
Lonzo, Clarkson
Ingram, KCP
Klay, Ingram, Kuzuma
Kuzuma, Nance
Nance, Lopez, Bogut

I don't think Klay will ever go to another team. I feel like he's a Warrior for life.

Didn't want a poll, I'm not asking should we sign him or not I'm saying say no way! (Although if we did end up signing him I'd probably jump on board pretty quick lol)

It's like the hottest chick on campus. You say to your friends from far away, "pssht, no way, I wouldn't want her in a million years, she ain't all that "
Until surprisingly she asks you out, you're like a puppy dog chasing its tail

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

I mean, I'm sure watching LBJ would be fun as hell, and he's a legend, seeing him in a Lakers uni would be awesome. I just don't like how he fits with our teams longer term outlook and direction.

Honestly, LBJ retiring a Laker improves our outlook and direction in almost every way, if we do it right. If we're good and he looks like he's engaged and having fun, everybody is going to want to play here. That will result in trades that can bring talent or picks or whatever...
If we do what the other teams he's been on did tho, we will end up just like them...
Give him what he needs without giving him what he wants all the time... And don't all of a sudden draw a line and 'play hardball' with him after spending years kissing his ass (Miami)...
Somehow you have to convince him the Lakers are bigger than LeBron, and have that make his desire to play her greater rather than turning him into Howard 2.0.

I see what you're saying, having a GOAT candidate end his career with us and all the stardom/whatever it brings definitely is prestigious for the organization. But what you're describing is like walking a tight rope, LBJ is the most volatile star I can think of. No one thought he'd leave Cleveland, no one thought he'd leave Miami, and no one thought he'd leave Cleveland again.

Superstars are ALL volatile... Kobe threatened leaving once (Shaq contract dispute) and demanded a trade... Magic threatened to leave... Kareem was mercurial as hell... Shaq, enough said... Wilt... Hell, even West had his moments... He quit in a huff...
It's part of the game and our ability to manage it is a big reason we've been this successful... That said, I feel like Dr Buss and to a lesser extent Mitch were masters at it... Not sure how great Magic will be... Right now I think he's getting by on guys being a little in Awe of him... I guess we'll see how it goes.

Re: Say No Way to LBJ!
Having LBJ in his twilight would actually help every single one of our young guys. LBJ is the anti-kobe, and will play even more that way toward the end. I could easily see him setting a personal goal of 12+ assists, while dramatically reducing his own fga in order to get the young guys going. The people saying they rather have PG are HILARIOUS. Lebron at 37 is better than PG at any point in his life.

Re: Say No Way to LBJ!
Yeah, who wants a guy shooting a career high 65.8% TS%¿, who sucks up all the defense by himself and providing a team with some incredibly needed half court scoring?
