Tracking 2017 drafted rookies:
Rookie top performers (Dec 14):
Superb Game:
Good Game:
Lonzo - 13 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds in 38 minutes but 6 turnovers
Kuzma - 20 points, 8-16 shootin, 7 rebounds
Hart - 11 points, 10 rebounds as a first time starter
Ntilikina - 7 points, 5 rebs, 8 assists, +14
JCollins - 15 points, 7-10 shooting, 7 rebs
So-So Game:
Bad/No Impact Game:
Kennard - 4 points, 1-8 shooting in 19 minutes
Fox - 2 points in 7 minutes/ Quad contusion
Lot of good performers today mainly coming from the Lakers although we lost. Lonzo, Kuzma and Hart all had good games with Kuzma standing out. Would have been nice to add Thomas Bryant to that list. Kennard and Fox struggled with Fox suffering a strained left quad contusion.
Go Lakers!

Good Game:
DMitchell - 19 points, 6-18 shooting but 9 assists, +12
So-So Game:
Adebayo - 11 points, 5 rebs in 22 minutes
Kennard - 9 points, 5 rebs, 4 assists in 18 minutes

Leaf - 4 minutes, 2 points
Ferguson - 3 minutes, 2 points

Anunoby - 22 minutes, 3 points on 1-4 shooting
DJ Wilson - 4 minutes, 0 points
Markkanen - DNP/Injury
Isaac - DNP/Injury
Fultz - DNP/Injury
Lots of games today but the 2017 drafted rookies really had little to no impact on the game other than DMitchell who shot real poorly but managed to help the team with 9 assists in the win. Tatum had another poor night along with a slew of rookies that played little minutes or had bad nights.
Lakers fans should be happy about the play of Lonzo, Kuzma and Hart recently. Now, we just have to give some time to Thomas Bryant who really needs to take over Lopez's minutes.

Ferguson - 0 points, 7 minutes
Ntilikina - 0 points, 13 minutes, 0-2 shooting, 4 fouls
DJ Wilson - DNP/CD
DSJ - DNP/Injury
Back to the two top guys outside of the Lakers playing well in DMitchell and Tatum. DMitchell is turning into Jazz's best player and an unstoppable scorer. He had another 26 points on efficient 16 shots but lost to Cavs by 9 points. Tatum is having another good game after 2 bad ones.
All the others rookies had soso or no impact games including Ntilikina who struggled badly. He went 0-2 with 4 fouls in the win over OKC. Thats all other than Lawler losing to RDA and possibly ending his long illustrious career.

Re: 2017 Drafted Rookie Tracker
Lonzo has been playing really well as of late. I went back and looked up some Ingram numbers as comparison...
Until the AS game (Feb 19, 2017 which is 58 total games), Ingram's high point total was.... 17.
Lonzo already scored 17 point or more 3 times this year with high of 29 against Phoenix.
Ingram scored in double digits 18 times before the AS game.
Lonzo scored in double digits 11 times and he only played in 28 games with another 30 more to go before AS game which is projected as 23 times if he doesnt improve.
Year-End Numbers:
Ingram 2016-2017: 9.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.1 apg, 0.6 spg, 0.5 bpg
Lonzo: 2017-2018: 9.3 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 7.1 apg, 1.4 spg, 1.0 bpg
One is untouchable and the other is a "bust"?

Kennard - 5 points, 2-4 shooting in 17 blowout loss
ZCollins - 2 points, 1-3 shooting, -6
Lots of games today featuring many teams with 2017 top drafted rookies. The one that shined? KUZMA with 38 friggin points. Kuzma was on fire!! Lonzo also have a good game along with Anunoby, JCollins and maybe Josh Jackson. Everyone else was soso or no impact. Hart had a decent game too while Bryant didnt get any minutes tonight.
Love the win over Houston and how our rookies/youngster had their fingerprints all over this win. Kuzma, Lonzo, Hart, Ingram, Nance all with great games. The Lakers need it as KCP is serving his suspension and Lopez is out for 3-4 weeks. Hope against GSW, TBryant can get some minutes.

A lot of game tonight but the great games from rookies all came from San Francisco as Kuzma, Lonzo and Bell shined tonight even though the Lakers lost. JCollins and Adebayo had good/great games while all the others had no impact or played poorly. Again, the Lakers should be excited about the future and how the two Lakers rookies are doing.

DMitchell played extremely well but in a loss again. On the good side, lots of good players there today including Hart. Kuzma, I was giving him a friendly bounce but he still managed 18 points on the night. As for the rest, mostly soso games or no impact ones highlighted by hot starters but who have been fading recently in Markkanen and especially DSJ. DSJ might have some lingering injury issues which was the worry about him as a high draft pick.

Re: 2017 Drafted Rookie Tracker
Don't sleep on Collins. This kid could be a valuable stretch 4/5 pretty soon. He has a pure stroke and can also score in the paint. I was impressed with this guy after being at the final 4 last year. What impressed me the most was that he was the vocal leader of a good Gonzaga squad of 4 and even 5 year college guys at age 19. He's just now getting some consistent playing time. I think he can be a very good contributor for many years in the right situation.

Yeah but since Collins didnt get starter time in Gonzaga, he is going to take longer than most think especially since C is one of the tougher positions in the NBA unless you have a great outside shot. He is shooting at a high % but with a low volume you have to see how he continues to play.
The real Collins that is impressing me is JCollins from Atlanta. JCollins, Anunoby from Toronto and Adebayo from the Heats are having good impact on their respective teams. This year's draft has added some top quality players and I expect a few All-Stars to come out from this, if not franchise players.

I expect him to take a while but I think his mental approach will fill in a few gaps in the balance of this game. Too bad he's on such an undisciplined team like Portland.
