I come in peace from the Jazz forum. So I hear it's now 50/50 and you may wait until 2019 to make any FA moves. What's the consensus over here? I thought the writing was on the wall that Paul George would be a Laker after this season, AND his buddy Lebron could be right behind. Has the ship sailed on that one?

I heard you were having trouble shedding salaries. Apparently Cleveland screeched on the brakes on their proposed deal when they realized that they were just greasing the rails for you guys to go after Lebron. We've got a few good expiring contracts for you. There's quite a bit of interest in Rodney Hood but there's a general lack of interest at the Jazz forum in the pieces being offered. Would you guys consider a trade of Hood, Joe Johnson, Tony Bradley and a second possibly for Clarkson and Randle? Trade works with or without Bradley but I thought you guys could use another big with Lopez expiring this year as well. What do you think?

You guys haven't been happy with your offers and the same could be said for ours. Sometimes I think these GMs just need a matchmaker.

I think that’s pretty good value for Clarkson and Randle, and a couple of weeks ago that would have been a done deal pretty quickly. However...

My theory on why Magic has backed off the two max FA plan is that the team is playing much better lately. Randle and Clarkson have won over a lot of doubters in Lakers land this season. I know I came into this season indifferent on Randle and sick of Clarkson. I’d be willing to bet Magic has people in his ear telling him they don’t want to take the risk of letting Clarkson and Randle go, especially Randle, giving how bad they’ve been in FA.

I think the Lakers are still going to push for one max FA, (PG), but I don’t think they want to risk gutting the team for the Lebron/PG pipe dream. The issue is, if the Lakers wait till the offseason, there’s a good chance no one is going to want to play ball with helping them get out of Clarkson’s contract. I think they’re planning on keeping Randle no matter what.

Yeah, I wish Dennis Lindsey had of been on the ball realizing your situation because that was a deal that could have been equally beneficial I believe. Not making a move now could cost you a shot at Lebron, but on the other hand you have some of the best young talent in the NBA right now. Good problem to have I guess. In Utah, we don't have those kinds of problems.
