Ok, this blows me away, but Thomas had the best defensive rating on the team last night. Which shows how truly horrible we were on that end as a collective unit.

2.7 points per minute for the 48 minute game
...... 3.35 points per minute when IT WASN'T on the floor.
That is what this tweet is telling me. Hart was particularly bad in team defense. A lot of the 3's we let up early were with him getting lost on rotations. Lopez was constantly out of rebounding position and Randle was doing something on the defensive end that wasn't defense most of the night and literally just standing there on rebounds.
It was one of the worst defensive performances I've seen this year and it wasn't just IT.

Nobody said it was just him.

That will probably happen - And unless Randle loves it in LA I can see LA losing out on him...
Then we will have no center for a while ... Oh wait we have LOlpez - If you call that a center?
The center spot is something we really need to keep it's the toughest of all IMO - someone young and can run and gun with our team - that's why I was high on Cousins - But now only wanting him if he comes on the cheap maybe 1-2year deal at most?
Not many other Centers tickle my fancy all other spots are easy too fill
Cousins was never leaving NO

Sometimes he seems to talk with a bit of Little Man syndrome, OTOH he's 5'9" in league of giants and the last player picked in his draft. It's that attitude that has helped him not only survive in the NBA (through multiple trades), but absolutely kill it last year (right up until his injury.)

What was IT's role in the play? Besides 10 feet away from anybody?
IT was in front of the free-throw line and the passer was between the 3 point line and the circle when he made the pass IT was right up on him. the receiver of the pass was under the basket and Brewer made a really silly foul. even Stu and Billy mac commented on the silly foul that made that play a 3 point play with the and-one. that is what luke was reacting to. I remember that play well, but I guess you need the audio to get the full context.

A GM coming to the rescue to defend a former GM, interesting. I didn't insult anyone, he began to poke at me without any previous provocation, why don't you behave like a fair GM?

Yeah, I realize Brewer had a soft foul... but IT didn't tag anybody in the play like he is supposed too.

Re: GAME:55 Los Angeles Lakers (23-31) @ Dallas Mavericks (17-38) - LOSS - 23-32
It took this team about half a season to figure out how to play solid team defense... It's not easy to get everyone on the same page to where they're just intuitively playing off each other... And our guys were still having miss-ques right before the trade... Clarkson in particular, took a really long time to figure out what we were trying to do on D...
So don't underestimate how bad swapping 2 guys in can make the rest of the guys look on Defense. Especially when one of them just by pure physical size is at a disadvantage, while also being a 6yr vet and still having absolutely no clue how to play D.
IT should be our Lou Williams... Starting him is a mistake. Even next to Ball's good Defense, he's still pretty much always going to be a liability... And him 'mentoring' Ball is a myth... He has nothing to teach Ball, that Clarkson couldn't... His nick-name for us should be 'Cap-Room'... Nothing more.
It will get better... But after watching the game, Bringing in IT has just completely thrown everyone off. They look at him as a 'Vet with Playoff Experience/Leader" so they're trying to play off his lead, when it should be the other way around.

Thomas had one of the best statistical years a point guard has ever had on the offensive side of the basketball.
Clarkson hasn't ever even had a year that you say is good enough to be in sixth man of the year discussion.
Come the **** on bro they are worlds apart
